Picture Perfect Pools is a one-person pool service working out of 201 Kendall Rd in Tewksbury, and it describes itself as a local, family-owned pool cleaning outfit. Homeowners hire it for seasonal pool openings, recurring cleaning plans, closings and repairs, and reviewers deal directly with the owner, Brad. The praise it has is for openings. A homeowner who had used it for several seasons wrote in 2024 that Brad had handled their pool openings for years, broke down each step of what he was doing, and was accommodating, reasonable and knowledgeable. Google shows a 3.9-star average across 7 ratings. The two most recent written reviews, both from spring 2026, are the ones worth reading before booking, because they describe a similar pattern. In May 2026 a homeowner said she paid $400 for a saltwater pool opening in which the cover came off and leaves were skimmed for 30 to 40 minutes, that the pool was left dirty because the water level was too low to finish, and that she was told a return trip to complete the job would cost another $200. A June 2026 reviewer, a first-season pool owner, said Brad diagnosed a broken filter, sold and installed a Hayward replacement that kept blowing DE, and fitted a sand-system valve instead of a DE valve; that homeowner says the filter grids were ruined by the following season and that a callback would have been billed. Its BBB profile, opened in April 2026, lists one employee, is not accredited and carries no rating — BBB attributes that to the business having operated less than six months, though the 2024 reviewer described several prior seasons of openings. If you hire them, pin down the scope of an opening in writing before the visit: what is included, what happens if the pool is not ready on the day, and what a return trip costs. Get a second opinion on any recommendation to replace filter equipment before paying for parts.
We were first time pool owners last year, Brad came by and told us our filter was broken. He sold us a Hayward filter and installed it. The filter kept blowing out DE we contacted him a few times. But his advice did not remediate the issue. When we got him to come by he was rude and told us he would need to charge us if he needed to come back. He also did not provide the users manual that we requested and told us to look it up online. Upon closing our pool with a reputable company last year they found the de had caked into the filter grids themselves and reported that the multiport valve was wrong. This year we had to purchase a new filter grid as our brand new one last year had been ruined by the de. Brad also put on a sand system valve instead of a DE valve so we need a new one of those as well. He overcharged for repairs and sold us the wrong products. It left us frustrated last year and out more money this year for something that he messed up. Not to mention we were charged a ridiculous amount of money for him to take the cover off our pool last year throw some chemicals in and not run it. Hands down one of the worst and most costly experiences ever. It makes me wonder if our original filter was even broken.
My husband and I called Brad at picture perfect pools to open up our saltwater pool. We prefaced that we are new to pool ownership and are not sure what condition it was closed. Brad came by with his truck did not ring the doorbell and immediately started taking a look at the pool. I went outside to greet him and reaffirm that I wanted to know the steps and procedures to actually care for our saltwater pool. He didn’t provide that service. Brad took the pool cover off of our pool and told me there was not enough water in the pool to open it today- I said no problem I will spend the next day filling it up. Brad cleaned a few leaves out of the bottom of the pool but the picture attached is the condition in which he left the pool. Still dirty and I’m out $400. I asked him to come back to finish the job since the only activities completed in this pool opening was literally taking off the cover and cleaning up leaves for 30-40 min to which he told me that in order for him to come back he’d need to charge me another $200 to make it “worth his while”. In my eyes this job is incomplete and my husband and I now have to figure it out ourselves or find a new person to pay to get this done. If this company was legitimate, we would have rescheduled the pool opening once the pool was filled but it was clear that Brad just wanted to take his money and run. If I could give 0 stars I would. Don’t hire Brad.
Very clean pools with a side of alliteration.
Brad has been doing my pool openings the last few years and I highly recommend him. He's very accommodating and breaks down the different things he does for your opening. He's reasonable, knowledgeable and always does a great job.
