1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. About the Service

The Service is an informational directory that aggregates and synthesizes publicly available information about home contractors and, where available, verifies license information against state registries on a best-effort basis. The Service is provided for general informational purposes only and is not professional, legal, financial, or other advice.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet these requirements.

4. No Professional Relationship or Endorsement

Tavlee is a directory and is not a party to, and is not responsible for, any agreement, communication, or transaction between you and any contractor. We do not employ, represent, endorse, recommend, guarantee, or warrant any contractor listed on the Service, and a listing is not a referral or recommendation. You are solely responsible for evaluating contractors and for your own hiring decisions, including independently confirming qualifications, licensing, insurance, references, and fitness for your project.

5. Information Accuracy

Information on the Service is drawn from third-party sources and public registries and may be incomplete, outdated, or inaccurate. License-verification results reflect registry data as of the time of the check and are not a guarantee of a contractor’s current licensure, insurance, qualifications, or quality of work. You should independently verify any information before relying on it.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms;
• scrape, crawl, harvest, or use automated means to access or collect data from the Service except as expressly permitted;
• interfere with, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its systems;
• introduce malware or any harmful code, or place an unreasonable load on our infrastructure; or
• misrepresent your identity or submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information.

7. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, text, synthesized content, compilations, and software, is owned by Tavlee or its licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service for your personal, non-commercial purposes. All trademarks, logos, and brand names are the property of their respective owners.

8. Third-Party Content and Links

The Service may display content from, and link to, third-party websites and resources. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party content, products, or services, and your use of them is at your own risk and subject to their terms.

9. Business Listings

If you submit information about a business, you represent that you are authorized to do so and that the information is accurate. We may, in our sole discretion and without obligation, add, modify, decline to list, or remove any listing or content at any time.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ANY WARRANTIES ARISING FROM COURSE OF DEALING OR USAGE OF TRADE. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE, OR THAT ANY INFORMATION ON THE SERVICE IS ACCURATE, COMPLETE, OR CURRENT.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, TAVLEE AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF, OR INABILITY TO USE, THE SERVICE OR ANY CONTRACTOR ENGAGED THROUGH INFORMATION ON THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (US$100). SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN OF THESE LIMITATIONS, SO SOME MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Tavlee and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising out of or related to your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of another.

13. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. You agree that any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Delaware, and you consent to personal jurisdiction and venue there.

14. Changes to the Terms or Service

We may modify these Terms or the Service at any time. When we change these Terms, we will update the “Last updated” date above. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

15. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including if we believe you have violated these Terms. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive.

16. Miscellaneous

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Tavlee regarding the Service. If any provision is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect. Our failure to enforce any right or provision is not a waiver of it. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them freely.
