MCM Pool Service, Inc. works out of 215 S Worcester Street in Norton and has been servicing southeastern Massachusetts pools since 2002. Its Better Business Bureau profile lists Christopher J Murphy as owner, puts the staff at about 25 people, and shows the company BBB Accredited since May 2013 with an A+ grade. It is also listed as a Norton Chamber of Commerce member. The bread and butter is seasonal pool service: openings, closings and winterization, weekly cleaning and maintenance, filter and pump repair and installation, heater installs and saltwater sanitation conversions, for both in-ground and above-ground pools and hot tubs. Alongside that they do renovation work and, more recently, build new in-ground pools in vinyl-lined, fiberglass and custom form — Houzz lists them as a Certified Fiberglass Pool Installer. The deepest praise in the written record is for repair rather than routine cleaning. Liner work comes up again and again: a June 2026 customer who had been burned by a previous installer waited a full year before reporting a wrinkle-free replacement that held, and a May 2022 reviewer called the workmanship on a fall-2021 liner job second to none. A June 2026 homeowner whose new in-ground pool was wrecked by a fallen tree — liner, skimmer, coping and fence — credited Chris with clear pricing before, during and after the job and same-day callbacks. Back in September 2014, a reviewer with a roughly 50-year-old concrete pool described MCM locating the main leak and the minor ones and replacing the entire line. Rescue jobs show up too: a July 2024 buyer of a home with a badly neglected pool said MCM was the only company that called back and got them scheduled in the middle of June. The complaints are worth raising before you book. A March 2024 Google reviewer called $553 to close an in-ground pool with no chemicals included highway robbery, and a 2017 Angi customer was unsure their closing price was fair; ask for an itemized quote and whether your own chemicals and cover can be used. A June 2022 reviewer reported unanswered phones, email-only contact, and being passed over twice for a pool opening.
