Forty-seven people have rated Crowley Pool Service on Google, averaging 4.6 — but the number that tells you more is one. That is how many employees the Better Business Bureau records for the company, and Steve Crowley, its owner, is named personally in nearly every review anyone writes about it. The company works out of Carver and describes itself as a family-owned, owner-operated Southeastern Massachusetts pool outfit that has served homeowners for more than ten years, specializing in vinyl liner replacement, pool plumbing and leak repair, renovations, and seasonal openings and closings. Its stated service area runs from Canton and Sharon down through Bridgewater, Pembroke and Whitman. What customers hire them for is the awkward, buried, expensive stuff. In a 2023 Angi review, a homeowner described the crew replacing the underground plumbing on a built-in pool — photographing the stamped-concrete patio beforehand so the new pours would match the pattern, minimizing the cuts, and working around existing irrigation lines. A HomeAdvisor customer writing in October 2025 said their pool pump died the first week in a new house in the middle of July, that Crowley was one of only two companies to reply, and that it was fixed within two days. A February 2025 Google reviewer, four seasons in by then, credited them with untangling a run of mechanical problems inherited from the previous homeowner, and another that month said a pool install came in on time and under budget. The two most recent accounts are shorter and consistent with the rest. One from May 2026 says they arrive on time, keep the pool looking good, and had everything cleaned up after a heavy storm; a June 2026 reviewer mentions "a couple bumps in the road" and says Steve was quick to remedy all of them. One thing to settle before booking: the Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration held by Crowley Pool Service LLC, number 207248, is expired in the state registry. Ask about it directly, particularly if your job is a liner replacement or a full renovation rather than a routine opening or closing. The BBB file, opened in February 2026, is unaccredited and carries no rating, and Angi and HomeAdvisor publish the same twelve reviews as each other — several of them syndicated from Google — so the 4.9 they both display is one body of praise counted twice, not two. If you own a vinyl-liner pool on the South Shore and something underground has gone wrong, this is the kind of small, owner-run shop that takes that call and gets specific about it. Get the registration status and the scope in writing before the season starts.
Steve and his crew were amazing! We had a couple bumps in the road but he was quick to remedy all issues. Quick turn around time and the willingness to help. Highly recommend!
They've been fantastic to work with. They come on time, they are professional and keep our pool looking great. After a heavy storm, they quickly got everything cleaned up and back to perfect condition.
I called to get a price to get debris removed from my pool but they said I was outside for their service area and that their tow truck was in the shop. Very friendly people.
Steve and his crew were awesome. Communicated very well, took care of all our concerns and showed up when we expected them too. They kept a clean workspace to ensure our kids were safe and we really couldn't ask for more. I'd hire them again in a heartbeat. Now our pool looks so good we have to clean everything around it to catch up! Highly recommended!
