A 4.9 average across 337 Google ratings is the headline, but the more telling number sits in the permit record: 106 permitted projects, about thirty of them in the past three years, mostly ductless mini-split installs, boiler replacements and oil-to-gas conversions around Malden and Melrose. This is a shop that replaces heating and cooling systems for a living, and the municipal paperwork lines up with what customers say. The company says it opened in 2003 and is still family-owned: founder and president Jason Moriarty trained in heating and cooling at the FAS Trade School in Cork City before moving to Boston in 2000, with Jen Moriarty heading business development. Its BBB profile has been accredited since 2012 and carries an A+, it is listed as a Mass Save partner and a Malden Chamber of Commerce member, and it names ten towns it covers, from Lynnfield and Wakefield through Melrose, Medford, Somerville and Revere. What customers describe over and over is speed when something has quit. Two technicians dispatched within a few hours when an air conditioner wouldn't turn on. A text exchange with Monica in the office, then a technician the next morning for a dead central AC. A leaking water heater in a two-family replaced on site inside 24 hours — and when the homeowner asked about the second, twelve-year-old unit, both were swapped out by six that evening. During a heat wave, an owner whose dog has heart disease wrote that the shop kept prioritizing a complicated repair, chasing a part that wasn't easy to find, until it was finished. Another heating call came down to a chunk of dirt lodged in a part; Owen cleaned it out and the heat was back within the hour. The same names keep recurring — Eoghan, Matt, Anne, Monica — which usually means the same small crew is the one showing up. The exception is worth reading. In May a customer wrote that after their own plumber referred them for a heat pump and drain line, they spent weeks with calls and emails unanswered and technicians who didn't arrive when promised. Everyone was pleasant on the phone; getting a truck to the house was the problem. One complaint against a long run of the opposite — but a recent one. One licensing detail deserves a question. BuildZoom lists four Massachusetts records here: a Home Improvement Contractor registration it says it verified active in March 2026, a Plumbing Business license it did not verify, a Plumbing Corporation record carrying a 2016 expiration, and a Gas Fitter license recorded as inactive and, per the state E-Licensing board, at one point cancelled. A sound call for a mini-split or heat pump conversion, particularly when Mass Save rebate paperwork is part of the job. Before booking, confirm the current gas-fitting credentials for your specific work and get the schedule committed in writing.

After having a different company two months prior to Evolved Mechanical, I was pleasantly impressed with the knowledge, professionalism and care Matt and Anne took not only in explaining everything to me but in replacing things that were moved to do their job. I would highly recommend this company for HVAC service. I also like the ideal of having plumbing, electrical and HVAC all under one roof which was not the case for me in the past.

Super easy to get a mechanic out within a day or two of requesting diagnostic. The mechanic was very thorough and my AC is back to basically normal! Eoghan took his time ensuring the system was reading appropriate levels (pic is BEFORE he did actual service repairs) and really explained everything well. We signed up for the maintenance plan immediately and happy to have this as one less thing to think about as annual checkups. Great, friendly service!

AC wouldn’t turn on and Evolved Mechanical sent two technicians within a few hours. Matt and Anne came and fixed the issue! Even if they hadn’t fixed it, I was super appreciative that they took the time to explain the issues, answer all questions, suggest ways to keep up w maintenance, etc. They also went to go buy replacement parts and problem solved their way through various blockers. Would highly recommend Evolved Mechanical! Pricing was $189 for the diagnostic visit $~410 to replace the contactor $~420 to replace the capacitor

They're outstanding! My AC went down during the heat wave and my dog with heart disease was really struggling to stay cool. It turned out the problem was quite complex and required a part that was not easily available. Despite that, they consistently prioritized my case and repaired the system as quickly as they possibly could. Huge shout out to Eoghan, the technician, who stayed until almost 7 pm to make sure the job was finished, and we didn't have to wait another day. He was incredibly pleasant and kind despite having to do the repair in intense heat and sun. A+ company that actually cares about their customers.
