Accurate Home Inspection is a two-person shop in Hudson, Massachusetts, run by Joel and Nelson Parness, who the company says are both licensed Massachusetts home inspectors and have worked eastern Massachusetts since 1996. Nearly every recent review names Nelson, and they converge on a single word: thorough. Across 25 reviews from 2022 to 2026 — including 29 Google ratings that average five stars — the pattern rarely breaks; in the last six months, ten buyers left five-star reviews and not one complaint. Repeat business runs through the history: one client had Nelson inspect three different homes, another hired him for a first purchase and came back for a second, and a real estate broker in Acton says he has inspected for dozens of her clients over eight years. What buyers describe is consistent and specific. Nelson walks people through the house in person, explains what he is seeing and why it matters, and returns a detailed report with photos and flagged items — in one case within 24 hours. First-timers keep singling out the teaching: he answers a long list of questions without rushing and maps out what needs attention now versus later. Several note that he is candid about the bad news, not just the good, which is the trait that actually protects a buyer at the negotiating table. Two things are worth confirming before you book. The business is run by two inspectors, Joel and Nelson, but the reviews almost entirely describe Nelson, so ask who will actually do your inspection. And beyond the inspection itself, the Parnesses offer optional radon and water testing — raise it up front if you want it, since the reviews center on the core inspection. For a home buyer around Hudson and greater eastern Massachusetts — especially a first-timer who wants to be taught, not just handed a report — this is a well-reviewed, established choice. Confirm which inspector you will get and whether radon or water testing is included, and you will know exactly what you are paying for.

Great timely communication, flexible when it comes to scheduling, and provided a very thorough home inspection followed by a detailed report. Nelson also took the time to explain how things work and shared recommendations for fixes/upkeep, which is very helpful, especially to new buyers like myself.

Nelson has completed 3 THOROUGH inspections on different homes for us in the past few years. This last one was on a home our offer was accepted on and he couldn’t have been better! He calmly and with detail explains EVERYTHING and as first time home buyers it is so helpful to learn as we go. Nelson was quick to return the report within 24 hours and made sure we have all of the info necessary. I wouldn’t recommend anyone else!

Nelson is extremely knowledgable and professional. He answered all of my questions thoroughly and thoughtfully. We hired Nelson for our first home purchase snd were so impressed that we hired him again for our second home purchase.
