The thing homeowners keep marveling at with Wood Star Flooring is what you can't see: where the new wood ends and the old begins. Refinish a 25-year-old white oak floor, tie a fresh section into it across a whole first floor, and — as one recent customer put it — you can't tell the difference. Wood Star is a Cape Cod flooring company out of Centerville, and by its own account it was founded in 2018 and has laid over 250,000 square feet since. The work runs across the trade: install new hardwood, sand and refinish old, convert tired tile to wood, lay luxury vinyl plank, and refinish stairs and decks. On Google it carries a five-star average across 91 ratings — a deep, steady run rather than a lucky streak. Two people run through nearly every review: Alex and Mels. The recurring praise isn't only the finished floor — it's the process. Alex walks owners from the on-site quote through post-project follow-ups, texts and calls get answered, and the crew keeps the dust down even on a full strip-and-refinish. Recent jobs bear that out: a kitchen where old tile came out and new maple went in, blended to the existing maple in the dining and living rooms; a foyer, hall, and powder room where tile gave way to wood; a couple who liked the Sandwich job enough to bring them back for a Marshfield townhouse. One honest caveat: almost all of the written praise lives on Google. There's a lot of it, and it's consistent, but there's less of an independent second opinion elsewhere — and as a shop founded in 2018, the history is deep but not decades long. Neither is a red flag; both are just worth knowing. For a Cape Cod homeowner refinishing worn floors, converting tile to hardwood, or matching a new section to old, Wood Star is a strong fit — especially if you value being walked through the plan and kept in the loop. Settle the stain color and scope up front, and the reviews are firmly on their side.

Had a great experience with Alex and Mel. They have a high level of communication which is very appreciated. Alex walks through the whole process from on site quote to post project follow ups. He was very knowledgeable, friendly, professional and thorough. Their pricing was very competitive. Also appreciate the cleanup efforts. There was very little dust after a full strip and refinish. Thank you for a great experience!

Mels, Alex and Alex did an excellent job refinishing a 25 year old white oak floor and extending/blending it with a new floor through our home's first floor. After 25 years living on the Cape, their service and attention to detail was among the top contractors we have found. They met a tight deadline for us, starting work shortly after our initial meeting, finishing right on schedule. After trying several samples, the finish product/color that was recommended turned out just as we hoped. I highly recommend WoodStar for any flooring project - they are honest, hardworking, efficient, detail-oriented, responsive and reasonably priced. The pride they take in a job well done truly shows!

Working with Alex and his team at Wood Star was the best home renovation experience I’ve ever had. Alex is a true expert and his advice was always spot on. He and his team were always responsive, polite, and considerate and the quality of their work was outstanding. The job was done on time and final cost matched the original estimate exactly - and pricing was very reasonable. Most importantly, the end result is fantastic and we’re now enjoying the beautiful Hickory hardwood floors throughout our home as well as the matching stair treads and trim. Alex & Mels did a tremendous job on our floors! They were responsive, knowledgeable, and honest. Their prices are fair and their craftsmanship is excellent. Their customer service during the whole process was outstanding. They returned calls & texts and showed up on time. They started when they said they would and finished early. And they cleaned up afterwards. Couldn't have asked for a better experience. Highly recommended!
