Highlights

  • Very low rating1.4 stars from 11 Google ratings
  • Unpaid invoice complaintsseveral reviews allege nonpayment and no response
  • Rudeness complaintone review describes disrespect toward a potential customer

R.E.M Flooring, a Peabody-based flooring contractor, describes itself as a family business doing repairs and full renovations since 2008, though its BBB listing dates the company to 2015. The review record here is a serious problem. Google shows a 1.4-star rating from 11 ratings, and the recurring theme across nearly all of them is unpaid bills: several reviews — most reading like they're from vendors or haulers who did business with the company rather than homeowners describing an installation — allege that invoices go unpaid for months and that the owner, Ralph, stops answering calls and emails once money is owed. One additional review describes the business as rude and dismissive toward a potential customer. There's no BBB complaint history on file, and the BBB profile itself carries no rating, so that source offers no counterweight to what shows up on Google. Given how consistent the complaint pattern is — even though much of it centers on the company's dealings with its own suppliers rather than its flooring work directly — this is worth taking seriously before hiring. Ask directly about current accounts-payable practices and get payment terms and project timelines in writing before any deposit changes hands.

Ralph owes our company money and refuses to answer any phone calls or emails! DO NOT HAUL FOR THIS COMPANY.

This “company” is nothing but a scam operation. They’ve owed freight bills for over SIX MONTHS and still haven’t paid a dime. Straight-up ignoring calls and emails. Absolute joke of a business. If you’re thinking about working with them — don’t. Unless you like working for free. Crooked, shady, and unprofessional. Pick up the phone Ralph!

Awful customer of ours who thinks not answering calls/emails means they don't have to pay invoices. Seems like they treat their customers like garbage too! Ralph PAY WHAT YOU OWE AND STOP DODGING RESPONSIBILITY!!!!

If I could leave less than 1 star, I would. Ralph has gone ghost since we provided a service for him HALF A YEAR ago. Take business elsewhere.
