Two names come up in nearly every account of Kilpatrick HVAC: Mike and Jon. It is a small Westford shop — the owner, Mike Kilpatrick, quoting the job himself and turning up to do it — and what customers keep noting is what doesn't happen. A reviewer in 2019 put it plainly: he "does not oversell me and I think the world of him." The written record runs 2019 to 2022 and is consistent: 4.9 across nine reviews, the same nine mirrored on Angi, HomeAdvisor and Porch, eight of them at five stars. Most describe central air installations. A homeowner writing in May 2020 had central air and a new furnace put into a 99-year-old two-family, with old radiators pulled from the bottom unit, and singled out how well the crew worked around a tenant. In May 2022 another said the pair left the house as clean as they found it and that the quote came in competitive against other bids. A 2021 customer described a workaround for a filter that was awkward to reach in the attic. The newest word is the most useful. In September 2025, someone in a Newton thread asking for a heat-pump contractor recommended Kilpatrick, saying the company had just installed ductwork and heat pumps for them that summer and calling Mike and John fair, timely and responsive; the same commenter said the company takes part in Mass Save. Two things to know. One customer in June 2020 gave four stars and wrote only "Just look and do your homework before hiring" — no detail followed, so ask for references on a job like yours. And HomeAdvisor states the company does not offer emergency service: this is a shop to plan an installation with, not one to call at midnight in January.
