Golden Key Advisors keeps turning up in Google reviews for outdoor structures — a 12'x20' gazebo whose footings were poured in a few hours and the frame raised the next day, per a June 2024 review; another gazebo that an August 2025 customer came back to say had stood through a hard winter; a pergola a homeowner had mismeasured and needed help sorting out in June 2025. The company is a Boston LLC at 769 Centre Street managed by Shari Betty, and reviewers name her and Sheldon on nearly every job. Its BBB file dates the business to May 2023 and lists one employee. The company's own site describes full-gut and cosmetic renovations, frame-to-finish residential construction, and custom decks, porches and patios. Its Google page sits at 5★ across 17 ratings running from October 2023 to January 2026 — small enough to read end to end, and two notes recur: tidy sites, and communication that doesn't go quiet. A January 2026 customer described having old forced-air vents pulled out of a condo, the walls and floors sealed, and the wood floor patched to match where the vent had been. Others hired them for jobs a lot of contractors won't schedule: unboxing and mounting a 65-inch TV in December 2025, assembling a playhouse and swingset in January 2026, and in April 2025 walking a first-time homeowner through choosing and installing appliances and light fixtures. Permits fill in the bigger end. BuildZoom records four jobs across 2023 and 2024 — a $120,000 two-unit renovation in Quincy covering two kitchens, two and a half bathrooms, plaster and refinished floors; a $22,000 rear porch rebuilt in composite in Dorchester Center; a $26,945 front porch deck repair on Sargent Street in Winthrop; and a small rear-door awning back in Quincy. Two things to pin down before booking. The company is young — three years, one name on its BBB file — so a whole-house job would sit at the top of what it has permitted. And its home improvement contractor registration hasn't been checked against the state here: BuildZoom prints two HIC numbers for the business and the company's site claims the registration without a number, so ask for the current one and verify it at the Office of Consumer Affairs yourself. For a deck, a gazebo, a porch rebuild, or the kind of interior carpentry nobody else will put on the calendar, this is a straightforward call.
