Nine reviews landed in the last six months, and eight of them describe the same person: Geovane, out to the house fast, quoting on the spot, then sanding and finishing floors with a crew that cleans up after itself. GB Hardwood Floor Inc works the Greater Boston area from a Norwood address, and the company says the Braga brothers founded it 17 years ago after arriving in the US and spending three years subcontracting in construction. The work runs from refinishing to full installation. A June customer had laminate installed and singled out how quickly calls and texts came back. Another described holes, paint stains and scratches in an old floor being brought back over three days. A townhouse buyer in June said Geovane called back within an hour of an online inquiry, quoted the carpet-removal and hardwood job, and finished the whole thing in a week. In April, a homeowner with wide pine floors credited Mike and Daniel with no-dust sanding and getting the tone right for a 100-year-old house. The cautionary note is real and recent. In June, a Newton customer said a warranty issue on laminate went unaddressed after repeated promises to come look at it, and called the follow-through the problem rather than the installation itself. A July reviewer who used them for several trades liked the flooring but said the painting came back average with spots needing touch-ups, and that new railings had already needed repair. Both point the same direction: the floors land well, the add-on trades and the after-the-job follow-up are where things have slipped. One more thing to settle before signing. BuildZoom lists their Massachusetts Home Improvement Contractor registration (#189636) as expired since April 2025 and re-verified as expired in March 2026. Ask for current HIC registration and proof of insurance in writing — Houzz carries an insured claim, but that is the company's own word, not a verified one. Good fit if you want old wood sanded and finished by a small, hands-on crew with a deep review history — 62 reviews going back to 2017, an A+ at the BBB, 4.9 on Google and 4.6 on Angi. Get the warranty terms and the registration status in writing first, and if you're bundling painting or carpentry onto the floor job, treat those as a separate conversation about scope and touch-ups.

Worked on multiple projects with Geovane and appreciated his availability and punctuality over the course of several weeks. The flooring was done very well, the painting was average, lots of spots which need to be touched up. We also had a couple of railings installed which look nice, although have needed to be repaired already.

Geovane and his crew did a less than average job on the hardwood project we had them do in Newton last year. When a warranty issue came up with the laminate floor in a section of the house, he placated us several times by saying he would go by and address it, and then just stopped answering or returning calls. It's strange because it was a pretty easy fix and clearly their installers fault. In short, they offer very mediocre work and zero accountability for warranty issues. I would never use them again.

Geovane did an excellent job installing laminate flooring in my property. He was very responsive and always quick to reply to calls and texts. He and his crew paid great attention to detail, and it really shows in the final result. I highly recommend him.

Amazing experience! Giovanni and his team wear professional, knowledgeable and finished my floors in 3 days. I could not be any happier at how it came out. I would DEFINITELY recommend this company 🙂. You can’t tell from the photos but I had a few holes in the floor, paint stains and scratches… they came in and really brought the floor back to life! I love how it came out.

We recently bought a Townhouse and we had several projects, including removing old carpeting and installing Hardwood Floors on the Upper Level. I made several online inquiries and Geovane of GB Hardwood Floors called me within an hour. Geovane provided me a good estimate and we also had him buff the existing Hardwood Floors on the Main and Lower Levels. Whilst he was doing the floor work, he also removed the existing Kitchen Cabinets, Countertops and Appliances, which he did in one day. The entire job was completed in a week, with the new Hardwood Floors, which looked great, that perfectly matched the existing Hardwood Floors which also looked great. I would highly recommend GB Flooring Inc for all your flooring needs. Thanks again Geovane!
