Old floors are the whole pitch here. Dream Floor Sanding is a small East Boston outfit whose customers keep describing the same before-and-after: worn hardwood, deep scratches, and a crew that sands it back to something worth keeping. The company says founder and owner Óscar Hernández has been at this for more than ten years, working hardwood, laminate and vinyl for both homes and commercial spaces. The most recent account, from this past winter, is a repeat customer: they had Oscar's crew refinish the old, worn floors in an office and bedroom, and came back to describe a smooth, consistent finish with the old scratches muted or gone — and pricing they called fair. That return visit is the detail that carries the most weight, because it is one homeowner choosing them twice. Behind that sits a shallow but unbroken run: 14 ratings on Google averaging 5 stars, stretching back to 2022, with no negative account anywhere in that history. It is not a deep record — a handful of ratings a year — so read it as a consistent small operator rather than a heavily-vetted one. By their own account they cover a wide arc of eastern Massachusetts from East Boston out to Braintree, Duxbury, Weymouth, Maynard, Arlington, Malden and Revere. That is the company's own claim, not something confirmed elsewhere, and it is worth pinning down whether your town actually gets scheduled the same way East Boston does. One more thing to settle before booking: there is no licensing or insurance information anywhere in what they publish, so ask for certificates directly. And because the review history is thin, ask to see finished floors in a species and sheen close to yours — the gallery leans heavily on red and white oak with waterborne and high-gloss finishes. They are the right call for a homeowner with tired hardwood who wants it refinished rather than replaced, or for a straightforward install over a prepared subfloor. Get the scope, the finish product, and the cure time in writing, and confirm coverage for your town on the first call.

We initially worked with Oscar and his team back in November when they refinished the wood floors in our office and bedroom. The floors were extremely old and worn, and honestly we were not sure how much life was left in them. After Oscar and his crew completed the work, they looked really good and the old scratches were much more muted or entirely gone. The transformation was impressive. The finish was smooth, clean, and consistent, and the entire space immediately felt refreshed. On top of that, the pricing was very fair. Most recently, earlier this month in February, we hired Oscar again for a much larger project. This time, his team completely removed the old flooring in the hallway and kitchen, cleaned everything out thoroughly, and installed brand new hardwood floors throughout that space. It was heavy labor and a major upgrade for our home. The result is exactly what we hoped for. Our house now feels modern, clean, and ready for the rest of our renovation plans. Oscar was responsive from the beginning and easy to communicate with. He showed up on time for every visit to review the project, discuss details, and provide clear expectations. The work itself was completed in a timely manner with very little disruption. There was no unnecessary stress, no confusion, and no last-minute surprises. Everything was straightforward and handled professionally. What stood out most was the attention to detail. The quality of the installation, the precision around edges and transitions, and the overall finish reflect real craftsmanship. The pricing was reasonable, especially considering the amount of labor involved and the quality delivered. Oscar honors his word, sticks to the agreement, and does not randomly increase pricing. That level of trust matters. If you are looking for someone hardworking, dependable, transparent, and committed to doing the job right, Oscar is the person to call. We truly appreciate the effort he and his team put into our home. Thank you, Oscar. Our family genuinely appreciates your hard work, and we look forward to reaching out about our Cape Cod project later this year.
