Cornerstone Designs, run by Eric Hanson out of West Roxbury, says on its Houzz profile that it has worked exclusively in flooring since 2016, after Hanson relocated the business from St. Louis to Boston in 2021. The stated focus is narrow and specific: hardwood and tile installation, plus custom, vinyl, and laminate flooring sales and installation, with typical jobs running $500 to $30,000. The clearest look at the actual work comes from a single detailed Google review from May 2026, where a customer describes hiring Cornerstone Designs for a kitchen project — tearing out an old floor, laying a new one, and adding a tile backsplash — and praises the clear communication and on-time delivery, giving it 5 stars. Google shows the company at a 5.0 average, though that's built on just five ratings total, and neither its Houzz nor its BuildZoom profile shows any customer reviews at all. Worth asking about before booking: BuildZoom's listing shows a Massachusetts Home Improvement Contractor/General Contractor license under the company that expired back in August 2023 and currently reads as cancelled, which is why BuildZoom scores the business at zero for lack of an active license on file. BuildZoom also describes the company's work as spanning kitchen, bathroom, basement, and whole-home remodeling plus additions — broader than the flooring-and-tile specialty the company describes on its own Houzz page — so it's worth asking directly what work they'll take on before signing anything. For a homeowner who needs hardwood, tile, or laminate flooring installed or replaced, especially as part of a kitchen or bath refresh, Cornerstone Designs looks like a plausible, narrowly-focused call on the strength of that one recent review. Confirm the status of the HIC/GC registration and get clarity on the scope of the job before moving forward.

Choosing Cornerstone Designs for a kitchen remodel was one of the best decisions I’ve made. Communication was clear. Time frames provided were precise and all deliverables were on-time as promised. The quality of the work- removing a very old floor, laying a new one, tile backsplash, and all recommended vendors for countertop fabrication and plumbing were excellent! And a bonus: Eric was very professional, honest, listened to my ideas, was available to discuss questions and cleaned up at the end of each day. I would not hesitate to hire Cornerstone Designs again!

Eric did a great job and was easy to work with. Our shower had been tiled by someone else and it was done poorly and leaked into our stairway. Eric came, discussed our plans, had great suggestions, and even picked up the tile for us saving us a trip. He was calm, thoughtful and professional. Our new shower even looks better than our original design. We are very happy with the process and the result.

Cornerstone Designs/Eric helped us pick out a high quality floating vinyl for our 1700sq ft. condo and it came out so beautifully! This is me and my wife’s first home together, so we wanted to find the BEST to help us with our new home! Eric was THE MOST professional, friendly, and kind person we worked with during our remodel and was super keen to the small details during installation! We get compliments on our floors all the time! We could not be happier with Eric’s amazing service! Highly recommend!
