Two brothers and a phone that gets answered. Across 43 reviews on Google, Angi and HomeAdvisor the names customers use for Chambers Heating & A.C. are Stephen and Kevin — a July 2025 reviewer called them "the best on the North Shore," and a March 2023 customer whose furnace died overnight described Kevin arriving early that afternoon and coaxing heat back on while the parts were still coming. The through-line is the heat-wave call. A July 2023 homeowner wrote that Stephen texted back within five minutes and had the fault pegged from the sound of the machine. A June 2024 reviewer had central air running again within 30 minutes on the hottest day of the year. An August 2021 customer left a Saturday voicemail and got a text back inside twenty minutes. On Google the score sits at 4.9 across 39 ratings; Angi and HomeAdvisor both show 4.8 across 45. Several reviewers went out of their way to describe work that did not happen. In June 2023 a caller was talked through a quick fix on the phone and wrote that Steve "could have come and charged me, and I wouldn’t have known any better." A July 2016 Angi customer with a twenty-year-old system was told to recharge it and watch it through the summer rather than replace it. Three things belong in the same breath before you call. The Better Business Bureau grades this business F — a wide gap from those directory scores, and the single most useful thing to raise directly. A July 2024 Google reviewer described an encounter in a Peabody parking lot with someone in a company vehicle who they say took a handicap spot and swore at them; that is conduct rather than workmanship, but it is there in the reviews. And further back, a February 2015 Angi customer disputed a $90 charge for a transformer they priced under $40 at a hardware store, which the owner answered publicly by citing travel and weekend time. The written history runs 2015 to late 2025 — deep, and no longer fresh. A sensible call for oil and gas heat, heat pumps, and an air conditioner that quits in July. Ask about the BBB grade, and get the parts-and-labor split in writing before anyone starts.
Chambers Heating is responsive and hardworking. He and his team installed my central air system and it works great. Highly recommend.
Chambers Brothers heating and air conditioning I feel is the best on the North Shore. They are excellent to work with. Steve and Kevin are the best.
Stephen Chambers performed service for our air conditioning unit. He was able to fit us in his busy schedule during a heat wave. Mr. Chambers promptly diagnosed and fixed the problem, all for a reasonable price. In addition to repairing the problem, he performed a thorough cleaning of the unit to help preserve the lifetime of the equipment. We appreciate his consistent 5 Star Reviews and will use him in the future if the need arises, as well as any needed maintenance. 5 Stars all around.
Excellent service, don't leave you hanging. Rates are reasonable, never dissatisfied with Chambers. I highly recommend.
Great service & communication. 10/10
