Ninety-one reviews since 2020, across six different places homeowners leave them, and not one of them is a complaint. That is the first thing to know about Boston Sunshine Floors, a Watertown outfit that puts down hardwood, carpet, luxury vinyl, and tile across Boston and the inner suburbs. The second thing is a name: Vlad. He shows up in review after review — measuring, quoting, and often on site with the crew. The company says it has been serving residential and commercial clients since 2016 with a team carrying over 15 years of experience, and describes itself as locally and family-owned, with a crew that works in English, Ukrainian, and Russian. What people hire them for is broader than "install a floor." This year alone customers describe a basement rebuilt with new floors, luxury vinyl plank laid through a basement after another contractor's work disappointed, floors and a section of ceiling drywall replaced after water damage, a residential gym floor installed start to finish, and carpet put down in a car dealership office. One reviewer in February — a senior citizen who has hired plenty of tradespeople over the years — said a small bedroom hardwood job was treated exactly like a big one. The praise clusters tightly around three things: accurate quotes, schedules that hold, and communication that does not go quiet mid-job. A June customer describing two bathroom renovations noted both were finished in just over two weeks while the family was moving in around the work, with a couple of scope changes absorbed along the way. Another said the quote was accurate and the floors came out clean. On Google the company sits at 5.0 from 70 ratings; Angi and HomeAdvisor each show 5.0 from 11 reviews with 'Approved' badges, free estimates, and warranties. A note on the numbers: the sources do not quite agree on scale. Google counts 70 ratings, a directory listing shows 64, another 23, and the two Angi-family profiles 11 each — the picture is consistent in tone, less so in volume. The company's own site says it started in 2016, while Angi and HomeAdvisor both list 11 years of experience; a small gap, but worth a question if longevity matters to you. The fit is clear. If you want flooring installed or refinished — and often the surrounding work that comes with it, like a subfloor rebuild, tile, or a bathroom that needs redoing around the new floor — this is a crew people call back. Confirm what the advertised 1-year installation warranty covers, since that term comes from the company's own listings, and ask about current licensing and insurance for anything that reaches past flooring into full remodeling.

Vlad and his team did an excellent job rebuilding our basement and putting in new floors. Very respectful, communicative, professional, and they did a beautiful job.

Vlad and his team are absolutely phenomenal. They crushed two bathroom renovations for us with craftsmanship and class. You can tell Vlad really cares about the quality of work they put out. They finished both bathrooms in just over 2 weeks while working around our lives (we moved in halfway through) and accommodating a couple of scope changes along the way. Communication was tight and consistent. Pricing was super reasonable. They showed up and worked hard every single day. The whole crew was respectful and pleasant. Vlad was basically part of the family by the end of it. We’ve got to find another project ASAP so we can get them back in here!
