Boston Premier Flooring is a Quincy wood-floor shop that has spent most of its public life on Angi, where it sits at 4.9 stars across 76 reviews with 95 percent of them at five stars. Owner Dan Nguyen's name runs through nearly all of them, usually attached to hardwood installation and refinishing. The company describes itself as a second-generation business established in 2004, out of a family with 30 years in the trade and a related flooring wholesale operation. It says it works on all types of wood — oak, maple, pine, bamboo and exotics — plus tile, for both homes and commercial spaces, and that it is a Bona Certified Craftsman company with an A rating and multiple Super Service Awards on Angie's List. The praise on Angi is consistent across years: responsive quoting, crews that finish on schedule, and floors that come back looking new. Two reviews cut the other way — a one-star complaint about stain left on baseboards and carpets and how the owner handled the billing dispute, and a four-star review about stair repairs where filler wasn't sanded flat or color-matched. The company answered the second one publicly, saying it had been hired only to re-coat the stair treads. A few things are worth pinning down. The founding dates don't line up: the company says 2004 and 22 years in business, while BBB has the LLC starting in May 2015 and lists it as not accredited and Not Rated for lack of information. BBB also shows two Quincy addresses and a single employee, and Wellesley town records include a hearing where neighbors raised questions about commercial vans and crew parking at a residential property tied to the owner. Most of the review history is several years old, so ask for recent references and confirm who will actually be on site. If you want hardwood refinished or installed by a shop with a long Angi track record and Bona certification, get the scope in writing — particularly stair and trim work, where the two critical reviews landed.

My son's condo floor received water damage due to a break in an adjacent units water line. The floor area by my son's entrance door became wet and as a result warping set in. Dan, the owner of Boston Premier Flooring, was extremely responsive using his moisture meter demonstrating that the underlayment concrete flooring was very wet. His crew removed the flooring to let the moisture dissipate before installing new hardwood. New flooring was installed a week later. They stained the floor and then applied several coats of polyurethane. It came out beautiful! This is the second time we used Boston Premier and I highly recommend them. Professional, punctual and greatly experienced in their craft

Mike was great, he refinished a hardwood floor for me and installed all new tile in my bathroom. He was very knowledgeable and answered any questions I had and I was very happy with the end results, will definitely be recommending him in the future

From the first phone call to the last piece of wood installed, Dan was an absolute pleasure to work with. This was the first major project that my wife and I took on in our new house. From talking us through the best hardwood options out there, differences between natural and engineered hardwood, and advising on some of the other intricacies involved with the project, Dan couldn't have been more helpful in guiding us through the entire process. His flexibility when our materials were delayed and the crew's professionalism during the two days they were working made this a rather enjoyable project.

My wife and I bought our first home together, which had beautiful pine floors (40 years old) on the first floor - except for in one bedroom which was carpeted. Dan came in on short notice and advised us - he assured us we could install pine floors in the bedroom downstairs which would match the first floor look, and that we could add red oak upstairs as well as sand down the stairs and refinish them to match. Dan and his team did a fantastic job. They were able to complete everything ahead of schedule while maintaining high standards for their work.

Dan and team were excellent. Dan came out the day after speaking to look at the floor and was able quickly to identify the wood and provide a concise description of the work that needed to be done. The floors came out beautifully and the work was done on time and on budget.
