Allstate Glass is, first and foremost, a windshield company. Its own site describes a family-owned Massachusetts operation running mobile auto glass — windshield replacement, chip repair, ADAS calibration — across Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Rhode Island, with separate brands for shower and architectural glass and for commercial glazing. The company says it has been at it for more than 35 years, started by brothers Jon and Doug Shellington and run across two generations. For a homeowner, the arm that matters is the shower and mirror side. Its Houzz profile, listed in Weymouth, carries a 5.0 from nine reviews — every one of them written between 2013 and 2018. In a June 2018 review an interior designer described a shower door fabricated and installed for a client's steam shower. A September 2013 customer described a custom frameless enclosure and a large vanity mirror going into a remodeled bathroom and called the pricing competitive. Several of those accounts come from designers and builders rather than homeowners, and one of the nine is posted under the company's own name, praising an inside sales manager rather than a job. What's current is thinner. On Google the company sits at 2 stars from two ratings, and the single written one, from May 2023, is a former worker warning other prospective employees about equipment and weekend hours — an account of working there, not of a job done for a customer. Separately, a February 2025 post on r/tradedboston reported that Aloka Properties bought Allstate Glass's Holbrook industrial building at 145 Union Street for $6.025 million. Worth a call if you want a frameless shower enclosure or mirror work from a long-established shop, provided you ask for recent local references and confirm which of the Allstate Glass brands would actually handle your job.
