How Tavlee works

What Tavlee is, where its contractor information comes from, and how to start finding a contractor you can trust.

Last updated: June 30, 2026

Tavlee is a directory built to answer one question honestly: for a given trade in your area, which contractors can you actually trust? Instead of a plain list of names, every contractor gets a single profile that pulls together everything Tavlee can find about them, weighs it, and shows its work.

Where the information comes from

Tavlee gathers publicly available information about each contractor from many sources — online business listings, review platforms, and public government registries such as state licensing databases — and combines them into one profile. Nothing here is pay-to-play: there is no paid placement, and contractors are ranked on the evidence, not on who paid.

The rating on a profile is synthesized from the reviews found across those sources, weighted by how credible and how recent each one is, and discounted when the track record is thin. Every synthesized claim cites the source it came from, so you can open the receipt yourself.

What you can do

  • Find a contractor. Search by trade and location, then narrow the results with filters like licensed-only, minimum rating, and distance.
  • Research a contractor. Open a profile to see the synthesized rating, an honest read of strengths and concerns, verified license status, and the sources behind each claim.
  • Save and compare. Create an account to keep a shortlist of contractors and compare them side by side.

Are you a contractor?

If the business is yours, you can claim your listing to verify it and keep it accurate — add photos, set your official name, and request corrections.
