When someone asked r/SalemMA for movers in July 2024, two separate people came back with the same Beverly outfit. One had used Transylvania Moving Company for a move; the other had hired them just to unload a truck after a cross-country drive and said the price was reasonable for it. Two unprompted answers in one thread is a decent sign for a company this young. The company says it was founded in 2020 by Cosmin and Diana, who came from a mountain town in Transylvania, Romania, and named the business after it. It runs full-service work rather than a labor-only crew: packing, moving, storage and hauling away or donating furniture you no longer want, out of Beverly and around Boston and the North Shore. It publishes its carrier registrations openly — USDOT 3525224, MC 1171570 and MDPU 31999, the last being the Massachusetts household-goods carrier number. Those are the company's own statements, worth checking yourself with the DPU before you book, but a mover that prints all three is at least operating in the open. The caveat is thin history. Both accounts are from the same 2024 thread and neither describes a large or complicated move, and no written customer reviews sit behind them. A reasonable call for a North Shore or Boston move, or for hired muscle at one end of a longer haul. Get the estimate in writing, confirm whether it is hourly or flat, and ask what the storage terms are if you need any.
