Thomas Berube Contracting is a Danvers, Massachusetts general contractor that the company describes as a family-run outfit dating back to 1980, working across the North Shore under both the Berube Contracting and Berube Construction names. It's built around full-service residential work rather than a single narrow trade — the kind of contractor called in for a real renovation project, not a quick patch. The public record on them is small but uniformly positive: a handful of reviews collected between 2021 and 2025, spanning both larger renovation work and smaller exterior jobs, with nothing negative turning up anywhere. One longtime client describes a repeat relationship that's continued across several years and many projects, pointing toward steady word-of-mouth business rather than one-off jobs. None of that activity is recent, though — there's no fresh review in the last several months, so what's here reflects an established pattern more than a current one. A couple of things are worth confirming directly before booking. The business shows up under slightly different names and addresses across older directories — sometimes Beverly, sometimes Danvers — all tied to the same phone number, so it's worth nailing down which entity and address will actually be on the contract. A Massachusetts contractor license number also turns up in a third-party directory listing, but that's not the same as a verified, active license, so ask to see it directly. For a homeowner planning a genuine renovation rather than a small repair, and comfortable hiring a small, established outfit without a large modern review footprint, this looks like a reasonable call — just get the current legal business name, license, and insurance nailed down first.

We had Tom and his crew do a full kitchen renovation, remove an old porch, and build a new screened porch, this was in 2023. They did excellent work and the project moved forward very quickly. Tom has a knack for coordinating various sub-contractors to show up at the right time. Good communication, professional work, and Tom himself is a genuinely nice guy. We have since had them back to do various smaller projects around the house. Highly recommended.
