- Thin review history — only one Google rating on file, at 1 star
Ten Hills Electricians works out of 181 Middlesex Ave in Somerville, handling electrical repair and troubleshooting calls. The one detailed account of hiring them comes with a warning label about how the job gets priced, not about the wiring itself. There's a single review on file, a 1-star rating from January 2026, and it centers on pricing rather than workmanship. The reviewer says the phone quote covers only the electrician's visit, and troubleshooting then gets billed separately at rates well above what's typical in the area. They describe the company as a third-party service that dispatches independent electricians rather than doing the work directly, and say they'd call a local electrician themselves next time instead. That said, the same reviewer had no complaint about the actual work: the electrician who showed up was professional and efficient, finished the troubleshooting and repair inside an hour, and did it well. The gripe is with how the visit was priced and routed, not with what got fixed. Get the troubleshooting rate in writing before the truck rolls, not just the trip charge, and ask plainly whether the electrician coming out is on staff or subcontracted. One review isn't enough to size up the everyday work here — it's enough to know the question worth asking before you book.

Homeowners, please be aware: the price quoted over the phone is only for the electrician to come out. On top of that, they add very high charges for troubleshooting, which in my case were significantly above market rates. They operate as a third-party service that dispatches independent electricians. The electrician they sent was excellent-professional, efficient, and knowledgeable. The entire troubleshooting and repair was completed within an hour, and the work quality was great. For future needs, I'd recommend contacting an individual local electrician directly rather than going through this service, as you'll likely get more transparent and reasonable pricing.
