Typical Greater Boston range for this kind of work, from regional averages — not a quote from Robert Roofing & Gutters Inc. Use it to sanity-check bids, then get the real number in writing.
A square is 100 sq ft of roof surface — bigger than the floor plan because of pitch and overhangs.

Typical roofing project around $13,800
Building permits tell the clearest story here: 150 on record, 44 of them in the past three years, and the overwhelming majority strip-and-re-roof jobs in the $5,000 to $20,000 range. Robert Roofing & Gutters works out of 82 Main St in Norfolk under Robert P. Greene — "Robbie" to most of his customers — with Kelli Spadea-Greene also listed as an owner and four employees on the books. The company says it has been at this since 1980 as a second-generation family business, and its BBB file records the same 1980 start. Its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration, number 179490, is active; the BBB has graded it A+ since accrediting it in January 2025; and the business tells the BBB that all workmanship carries a 10-year guarantee. The slogan is "one call sends a roofer, not a salesman", and customers do keep describing the owner on the roof himself. The written record is deep but dated — 99 reviews on Angi averaging 4.6, with the individual accounts running 2014 to 2021 — and at its best it is specific. A March 2019 customer said the team arrived early, finished in a day, fixed a piece of rotting wood on the side of the house while they were there, and had no issues three years later. A September 2017 homeowner who collected four quotes for new gutters called this the best value overall and said the gutters held through several storms. Writing in April 2015 after that winter's record snowfall, another described Robbie inspecting ice-dam damage on a Saturday morning, quoting in writing before leaving, and finishing the tear-off and rebuild in a single day. More recently, on a Norfolk Nextdoor thread in February 2026 about emergency ice-dam clearing, a neighbor pointed the poster straight to "Roberts Roofing in Norfolk", calling him a great guy. The complaints cluster on what happens after the job. A May 2018 reviewer — who had posted a glowing review in 2016 — described skylights installed a year earlier leaking into ceilings, and said Robert declined to come look before referring it to their insurance, leaving them a $1,000 deductible. Three reviewers in 2015 described unreturned calls: one after a partial snow-removal job, one after a leak came back, one after buying a service deal. An April 2015 gutter customer downgraded to two stars after logging repeated unanswered messages about screens working loose. Angi's own distribution puts 6% of its 99 ratings at one star. So the thing to pin down before booking is the back end, not the roof: ask in writing what the 10-year workmanship guarantee actually covers and what the callback process is if something leaks a year later. Confirm registration 179490 on the state's Contractor Hub while you are at it. A sensible call for a Norfolk-area, MetroWest or South Shore homeowner who wants an owner-on-site roofer with a long permit history and an active registration — provided the after-work terms are agreed up front.
“We can take care of the interior! 508-269-9598. Removal of the ice dam I'd say Roberts Roofing in Norfolk. Great guy. (857) 247-8709”
I would highly recommend them, they are highly knowledgeable and very competent, their pricing was very competitive.
Team arrived early and worked hard all day to finish up by the end of the day. Left site clean and job looks great. Rob even fixed a piece of rotting wood on the side of the house while they were there. 3 years later no issues.
This is a revision of my review dated 10/05/16 which we gave Robert Roofing a glowing review... Yesterday afternoon I noticed my ceiling had water stains above, below the skylights and at the top of the wall below the skylights. These skylights were put in just over a year ago. My husband called Robert Roofing which states on Angie's List that he is insured and stands by his work...so we thought. Robert called last night and said he would be by today. My husband stayed home from work, no Robert. My husband telephoned him, Robert called back and said would have to go through our insurance, it was caused by ice dams. He didn't even bother to come look at it. The skylights are on the sunny side of the house, we had no visible ice dams or ice buildup. When we said we are getting rain tomorrow, he said it shouldn't happen again. So we don't know if there's damage to the roof but definitely a damaged interior. Why should we have to go through our insurance without him coming to inspect his work? Update, paid by our insurance and we had to pay the $1000.00 deductible. Roof repaired, interior ceiling and walls had to be painted. Our insurance has contacted his for reimbursement but who knows how long that will take to get reimbursed. So in closing I would not recommend Robert Roofing and Gutters for anything.
Robert Roofing provided the work within a couple of weeks of the estimate be done. The skylights look great. Also his price was approx. 25% less than other estimates we had had done by other companies. We would definitely recommend Robert Roofing and Gutters.
Robert installed new gutters on my house that never had any. He was quick to respond and show up. Gave me a very reasonable quote. I got 4 quotes for the job and his was the best value overall. He knew what he was talking about and did a great job. We've had several storms since the install and the gutters work exactly as they should. Easy to work with and very professional. Best price of all the quotes I received too.
