Reliable Roofing, Siding & Windows says it started in 2000, when Albert Distefano Jr. opened the business in Canton, MA after two decades working alongside his father at Precision Door and Window; Robert Distefano took over in 2009 after his father's death, and the company says it's still run day to day with his mother, Carol Distefano, involved. It's based now at 194 Tosca Dr in Stoughton, hired mainly for roof replacements, siding, and window installs, with the occasional deck, addition, or garage conversion on the side. This year's reviews read less like boilerplate and more like specific jobs. In May, one homeowner had the crew rebuild a garage into living space alongside a full roof, gutter, window, and siding job; another had a deck finished a few days ahead of a tight deadline. A February review describes calling Reliable in after "a disastrous situation with another contractor," and having the crew pivot mid-project to repair rot nobody had budgeted for. The names that keep showing up — Rob, Carol, and a field coordinator named Mike — repeat across years of reviews, which for a 25-year-old company says the same core team is still doing the work. Two things worth asking about directly. One Google review attached to this listing describes a company called Carpe Diem doing a roof job, not Reliable — a sign that at least one review here belongs to a different job, so it's worth confirming who actually shows up before signing anything. And while the BBB has accredited the business at an A+ grade since 2001, Houzz's 5.0 rating rests on a single review despite 29 projects listed there, which isn't comparable to the 201-review Google average. For a roofing, siding, or window job on the South Shore — especially one that might turn into more once the crew is on the roof — the volume and consistency on Google make a reasonable case. Ask for Rob, Carol, or Mike by name, and get the scope in writing before the "one more thing" repairs start.
