The January 2026 ice storms run right through this company's recent reviews — ceilings coming down, drying columns going up, one family out of the house for a week — and Paul Davis Restoration of Boston South and Rhode Island is who a lot of those homeowners' insurers sent. Working out of North Attleborough, it takes the whole arc of a household disaster: mitigation and drying first, then the rebuild that puts the rooms back. Across 339 Google ratings the average sits at 4.8, and the reviews are strikingly consistent about one thing — the project manager. James, Nathan, Greg: customers name them, and what they praise is being told what was happening and when. One homeowner whose repairs collided with supply problems, code changes and weather too cold for the work said the crews handled each one and finished the job. Another, mid-abatement across half a house, described prompt, clean work and would hire them again. The scope stretches well past drying equipment. Recent jobs include a chimney and fireplace removal paired with new siding, gutters and a redone basement; a roof replaced alongside interior water repairs; a backyard deck restored; hardwood floors repaired after a leak; soot cleaned through a house after a boiler malfunctioned; and black mold cleared out of a basement. One crew painted a customer's new baby's room at no charge on the way out. The complaints are few, but they are specific and they cluster in the same place: what happens after the fast first cleanup. One customer's hardwood floors were refinished before the floors had dried and buckled again. Another said the initial cleanup was quick, then the return visits and the communication slowed down. A third left one star with no detail at all. For an insurance-driven emergency — ice dam, burst pipe, fire soot, mold — this is a shop built to take the whole thing off your hands, and most of the people who hired them say it did. Ask who your project manager will be, since the reviews point to that as the variable that matters most, and get the drying sign-off and the repair schedule pinned down at the handoff from mitigation to rebuild.

We recently had our backyard deck restored by Paul Davis Restoration of Boston South and Rhode Island, and we couldn't be happier with the results. James, our General Contractor, did an outstanding job managing the project from start to finish. He kept us informed throughout the process, answered our questions, and made sure everything was completed to a high standard. Marcellus and his crew were equally impressive. Their craftsmanship, professionalism, and attention to detail truly transformed our aging deck into something that looks beautiful again. Our deck had suffered years of wear and tear and was in desperate need of a facelift. The finished product exceeded our expectations. While the project took longer than originally anticipated, the delays were completely outside the control of Paul Davis. Inspection delays and local government permitting requirements created frustrating setbacks, but James stayed on top of everything and kept the project moving whenever possible. We appreciate the dedication, patience, and quality workmanship shown by everyone involved. If you're looking for a restoration company that stands behind its work and genuinely cares about customer satisfaction, I highly recommend Paul Davis Restoration of Boston South and Rhode Island. Thank you, James, Marcellus, and the entire team for bringing our deck back to life!
Ice dam timeline: three months. Affected every room in the house, including the drop ceiling in the hallway. Many appointments had to be made. Water had to be turned off, ceilings had to come down, drying columns had to go up, we had to spend a week in a hotel, and painting had to be done. From start to finish, excellent service from the administrative team: Katie, Cassandra, Jake; excellent customer service and craftsmanship from the field team: Elton, Nestor, and crew; excellent workmanship; excellent communication; excellent conduct; excellent cleanup; down to inspection with Chris Rizzo. Every individual we came in contact with at PAUL DAVIS went above and beyond our family's expectations. If I could give more than five stars, I would. I highly recommend.
Had a big project completed and couldn’t be happier. We had a chimney & fireplace removed, our siding & gutters replaced, and our basement redone. James, our project manager, made sure everything went smoothly. Would definitely recommend.
