- Repeat customers — several reviewers describe hiring the company more than once
Octopus Moving says it's a Boston-based full-service mover that also operates out of Providence, Charlotte, Raleigh, and Chicago, handling everything from local apartment moves to long-distance relocations, with piano and white-glove service listed as specialties. This year's reviews keep circling back to two things: accurate quotes and quick, easy-going crews. One customer this June credited a mover named Jay with getting a whole move done fast and pleasantly; another in January said the crew was friendly and the final bill matched the quote with no surprises. That tracks with the pattern going back further, where reviewers repeatedly describe crews handling awkward jobs, like fourth-floor walk-ups and buildings with tight corners and no elevator, without much fuss, and a fair number say they've hired the company more than once. One thing worth knowing before booking: an independent moving-industry review site that looked at a much larger pool of 282 reviews put the company at 4.1 out of 5, noticeably below the 5.0 average on Google here. It's worth reading a spread of sources rather than just one. For a local Boston move or something that needs careful handling, like a piano, this is a company with a growing multi-state footprint and a mostly positive track record. Get a written quote up front and confirm it covers the specifics of your move.

I have used octopus moving twice now to move between two different Boston apartments. Not only were their prices great compared to other quotes i got, the admin team as well as the movers were so easy to work with. Both times I moved to apartments that were 4th floor walk-ups and they did this with ease, no complaints, and faster than was estimated. The movers were extremely nice and helpful. I would recommend them to anyone moving and will definitely use them again in the future.

The communication with the staff at Octopus Moving was excellent. The team sent to move us arrived within the agreed-upon window. They were able to quickly dismantle large furniture and navigate the tight spaces of moving from a small apartment in a building with tight corners and no elevator. We would definitely use Octopus moving again if the need arises.
