Norfolk Kitchen & Bath's Boston showroom sits inside the original Norfolk Hardware & Home Center on Morton Street — the same spot, the company says, where the Rosen family opened a small hardware store in 1934. Nearly a century later it describes itself as a family-run cabinet, countertop, and kitchen-and-bath remodeling business with six showrooms across Massachusetts and New Hampshire, still led by Ben Rosen as president. People come here mainly for cabinet-driven kitchen and bathroom work — design consultation, ordering, and installation — paired with granite, quartz, or laminate countertops. The pattern in recent reviews is consistent: homeowners name the same design staff. In the past couple of months, one client credited Merry Ao with adjusting a kitchen plan on the spot during a consultation, with cabinets delivered and installation pending. Another pair had Melissa handle design and material selection while Steve and Mary kept the project on schedule, with carpenters Chris and Jennell singled out for their attention to detail. A third couple had John Leonard design and Steven Costa oversee a full teardown and remodel of both kitchen and bathroom, and called the crew friendly and attentive. That tracks with a longer history — 39 reviews dating back to 2021 across five sources, and a 4.4-star average from 62 Google ratings. Two recent reviews cut against that pattern. In May 2026, one visitor to the Boston location said no employee acknowledged them, and took their business elsewhere. Weeks earlier, another homeowner got an initial estimate of $35K for an 8-by-6 bathroom, only to watch the number climb to $50K once the estimator got involved — a swing large enough to sour the process regardless of the underlying reason. There's also a more serious dispute sitting on Norfolk's BBB profile: a customer describes repeated damage on a cabinet order — wrong materials shipped twice — and says the company refused a refund. It doesn't show up in the Google history, but it's worth raising directly on any large custom order, specifically how they handle a damaged or misspecified delivery. Norfolk's Massachusetts Home Improvement Contractor license is active, and BBB has the business accredited at A+. For a cabinet-centered kitchen or bathroom job, the Boston team's designers draw specific, repeated praise — get the estimate and materials spec in writing before signing, and ask upfront how they handle a damaged shipment.

We had a great experience working with Norfolk Kitchen specifically Merry Ao! She was very knowledgeable and offered great ideas! She was very efficient yet patient. I loved how she was able to make adjustments to our plan while we were sitting there with her. Our cabinets were delivered but installation has not yet completed. They look amazing and I cannot wait for everything to be completed!

I have had wonderful experiences with Norfolk Kitchen & Bath, both professionally as an interior designer, and as a homeowner. Two separate clients worked with kitchen designers from Norfolk. Both projects went smoothly and the cabinetry is excellent quality for a good price, so I went to them for my own kitchen renovation. Merry Ao was able to envision expanding the space to make it much more functional just by moving the refrigerator location. She was very thorough designing and ordering the cabinetry, and met with our contractor to finalize measurements and talk him through what was needed for installation. Communication throughout the whole process has been excellent. I will post photos once the countertops are in!

I was very pleased with the entire process and the end result. Melissa was very helpful with the design and selection of materials. Steve and Mary were responsive andkept the project on track. Carpenters Chris and Jennell had a keen eye for detail and are very skilled. I couldn’t be more pleased.

Don’t bother going to the Boston location. Not one single employee will acknowledge your existence. Will be taking my business elsewhere.
