Read enough NextGen Realty reviews and a pattern shows up fast: almost nobody writes about the company. They write about their agent. Alexander, Marta, Ian, Azal — the name in the first sentence is a person, and the story that follows rises or falls with that person. That is what a 4.7-star, 455-rating brokerage looks like from the inside. NextGen Realty works out of 1243 Commonwealth Ave in Allston and says it has been listing Greater Boston apartments and homes since 2004, running rentals, residential and commercial sales, and property management under one roof. Its Massachusetts real estate broker license is active, and its BBB page carries an A+ with accreditation going back to 2005. Rentals are where the volume sits, and speed is the recurring theme. A parent whose son was running out of time before a job start credited Alexander Osornio with turning the search around after other agents went quiet; another renter working with Osornio described a "super quick move," prompt and informational start to finish. Marta Moraru found one client a two-bedroom with responses they called impressively quick. It is not only tenants: a building owner says they have used NextGen every time a unit opened up, and names Ian Armstrong as easy to reach and consistent about sending applicants. The flip side of an agent-by-agent shop is that one agent can define the whole experience. In February 2026 a prospective renter described being asked four times to confirm a credit score after already confirming it, then having a tour cancelled twenty minutes beforehand and pushed to the next day, then being refused the showing until credit and income details were handed over. Earlier one-star reviews run in the same direction, complaining that agents were uninformed about the buildings they were showing and that the real situation only came out after an application was already submitted. On Reddit's r/bostonhousing, a poster questioned NextGen asking for a deposit to be paid along with the rental application — worth pinning down in writing before you pay anything. And note where the honest picture lives: the BBB profile shows no customer reviews or complaints at all, so Google is the place to read the actual history. If you are landing in Boston on a tight clock and want someone working the inventory on your behalf, this is a reasonable call, with the caveat that your outcome tracks your agent. Ask who you will be assigned, whether they represent or merely list the building, and get the deposit and refund terms in writing before you sign.

I was contacted by NextGen Realty regarding a unit. As part of the application process, they’re asking for a deposit to be paid along with the application.

I had an excellent experience with NextGen Realty. My son and I worked with Alexander Osornio and we couldn't be more pleased. In fact, Alexander saved the day. My son was running out of time looking for a rental before starting work. We had limited luck with other agents - whether it was lack of responses, or agents that simply didn't understand (or care) what my son needed. Alexander seemingly dropped everything to help us, and he detailed varying options/property types with my son. He thought "outside the box" unlike any other agent. Within 24 hours, we had our application completed, approved, and a lease signed. I give Alexander and NextGen my highest recommendation.

I had a great experience overall and can’t recommend them enough. My agent was Azal and she was amazing and really helped me through the process. Definitely would recommend.

We've used NextGen Reality everytime we've had open occupancy at our building and cannot say enough great things about them as a whole. Ian Armstrong is fantastic -- he's always easy to reach, has always provided great applicants and helpful throughout the whole process with handling all the details + heavy lifting. My father also used him prior too, and also enjoyed working with him.

I’m extremely satisfied with the service provided by NextGen Reality during my apartment search. I had the pleasure of working with Marta Moraru to find a two-bedroom apartment, and she was incredibly helpful, professional, and impressively quick in her responses and actions. Honestly, even a five-star rating doesn’t fully reflect her dedication and hard work. I highly recommend NextGen Reality for anyone looking for an apartment in the Boston area and nearby locations—they have a large and diverse inventory to choose from.
