A hot tub is the kind of item most moving crews would rather not touch. Meade Transport has built a niche out of exactly those jobs — spas, pianos, safes, fine furniture: the heavy, awkward pieces that need a plan rather than a dolly. The company says it has been moving households on the South Shore since 1977, and its Better Business Bureau file lines up with that: a sole proprietorship started in January 1977, run by owner Christopher M. Meade, with six employees. Google and the BBB both list it on Finnell Drive in Weymouth, while the company's own site gives a Rockland address — worth clarifying when you book. Its stated service area runs from Boston and Quincy down through Hingham, Duxbury and Cape Cod, and out to Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket. Google puts it at 4.8 across 18 ratings. What comes through in the recent ones is access to the owner: a customer who had a hot tub moved this May described booking it in a short phone call and getting a fast, clean job, and named Chris as the person answering. A June review came from someone who has hired the company more than once and says they call no one else. The BBB grades it A+, though the business is not BBB-accredited — that program is voluntary, and skipping it says nothing about the work. Elsewhere, allmovingservices lists a 4.7 across 14 reviews, and greatguysmove scores it 8.33 out of 10, placing it in the upper two-thirds of Massachusetts movers. The history here is consistent rather than deep — nine reviews across five sources going back to 2021, all of them positive. Six employees also tells you what kind of outfit this is: a small local crew, not a van line with surge capacity. For a full-house move on a summer or turnover-season date, ask early whether they have the crew and truck for your day, and get the quote for your specific item in writing. The company also lists packing, crating and storage alongside the moving work. They are a sensible call for the single heavy thing you don't want a general crew handling — a spa, a piano, a safe — and a credible option for a standard South Shore house move. Confirm which address you are contracting with, and pin down the estimate before the truck rolls.

Chris and his team are wonderful! We used them to move an Ice Bath from a rooftop terrace, which required a crane, and then transport it to another state. From start to finish, Chris was on top of the entire project. He always responded to my texts and calls immediately, which is so important with a move like this. I highly recommend Meade Transport for all of your moving needs!
