MARS Contracting's calling card shows up in a 2024 review from a Beacon Hill condo owner who took a twenty-year-old unit down to the studs. He had been sent to MARS by a neighbor, and by the time he wrote, he had passed the name on to eight more people in his building. That is the pattern running through their Google history: one job leads to the next. The Lynn company says it grew out of cabinet making, and the work customers describe covers the range it advertises — kitchens and baths, additions, decks and porches, siding, windows and painting. Its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration, 185414, is active, and its BBB page carries an A+ grade, though the company is not BBB accredited. Two things surface again and again in comments written between 2022 and 2024: schedules and cleanup. A 2024 customer said a small tile reflooring job came in on time and on budget despite a few complications. A 2023 reviewer whose thirty-year-old deck railings were replaced noted the crew showed up punctually, cleaned the property at the end of each day, and finished inside the three days estimated. A 2022 reviewer hired them three times over — a bathroom remodel first, then exterior painting and repairs, then a new shingled roof. Another had them install kitchen cabinets across 32 units of a new building, on schedule. The same first names recur throughout: Sal, Edgar, Jorge, TJ. What to weigh before calling: all fifteen Google ratings are five stars, but the written comments stop in October 2024, so there is nothing public about how the past year and a half has gone. The company's own numbers do not line up either — its site claims thirty years in business while its BBB profile lists twenty-four — and the site describes the company as accredited without naming the body, while its BBB profile shows it is not BBB accredited. A sound call for a full-room or whole-unit renovation where you want one crew carrying carpentry, windows and finish work end to end, especially in a condo where scheduling and daily cleanup matter. Before signing, ask for two or three jobs finished in the past year and their references, and get the schedule and site-cleanup expectations written into the estimate.
It was an absolute pleasure to work with this team, and Jorge was an absolute perfectionist when it came to finishing our powder room and leveling our basement. They were easy to work with, very responsive, and everything was done to an absolute “t,” we couldn’t be happier with the results!! 10/10 would recommend.
MARS Contracting exceeded expectations for the small tile reflooring job I needed. They came in on time and budget, worked around a few challenges and came up with a very good result. I highly recommend MARS for small and I believe, larger construction jobs. We plan to call on them for our next project.
After owning my condo on Beacon Hill for 20 years, I decided to do a complete down to the studs renovation. MARS was recommended to me by a friend/neighbor who said they had a great experience with Sal and Edgar and their crew. I’ve recommended them to 8 people in my building.

MARS is very professional, responsive and polite. I’d never done a renovation before and they educated me on the process as we worked together to make it all come together. They were patient with me when I had questions or wanted something changed and there was no mansplaining.

Go into the experience knowing it’s a team effort and you have to be available to answer questions, make decisions. It’s how you’ll be happiest with the end result.

My project was finished on time and on budget. There were no surprises because I was always kept informed. I had to move out of my unit and rented a place for three months and MARS was aware of my timeframe and we met the deadline no problem.

If you don’t use MARS for your renovation. You’re crazy. They are the best. I hated to see them go. I wanted to find another project for them. Great team. I can’t say enough about them.
Sal and his crew replaced my 30 year old deck railings. They did a beautiful job bringing my deck back to life. The crew was punctual, respectful and cleaned up each day before they left the property. The job was estimated to last three days and in fact it did. I would definitely hire Mars Contracting , LLC in the future.
I used Mars Construction for a living room renovation last fall where I had 3 old sliders and a front door replaced with new Harvey windows and a slider ...new walls were erected and drywall installed and finally the room was painted ... the work was well done and the room came out beautifully ... Just this past May I had them come and paint my house and repair whatever damaged or rotted wood they found ... The work is impeccable, sanding and scraping, repaired rotted wood and painted the complete exterior. Their workers are polite and professional and very hard workers. They were on time and kept in touch with their timeline so I knew when to expect them and when not ... I woild highly recommend Mars Contracting ...
