Lenox Farms is not a moving company — it's a 515-unit apartment and townhouse community in Braintree, Massachusetts, built by the Hanover Company and referred to by residents as managed by UDR. Recent Google reviews split along one clear line: nearly everyone who names maintenance technician Elson describes fast, same-day fixes — a broken oven door, a dead water heater, a dryer repair — and credits him with keeping the place livable. Other recent reviews describe real problems with the living experience itself, including a persistent cigarette-smoke odor that took over a month and several failed treatments to resolve, and pedestrian-safety concerns about speeding cars and few crosswalks in the complex. Older reviews going back to 2021 describe a rockier history with property management, including a disputed tow fee and a rent-increase disagreement. If you're renting here, Elson's maintenance work is a plus worth asking about; the odor-handling and safety issues are worth raising before signing. If you're searching for movers, this isn't one — it's a place people move into, not a company that moves them.

I currently live here and overall it’s just okay. My biggest concern is safety, especially for pedestrians. I’ve almost been hit by cars multiple times despite taking precautions—walking on the sidewalk, looking both ways before crossing, and using a flashlight when walking my dog. Cars regularly speed through the neighborhood, and there are very few stop signs, no speed bumps, and no clearly marked crosswalks or speed-limit signs. There are only two stop signs total in the entire area.

Another issue has been dogs. We’ve encountered aggressive dogs, including a Rottweiler in Building 104 and a pit bull, which is concerning since we were explicitly told during the application process that pit bulls were not allowed.

If you’re considering living here, just be aware that safety—at least when it comes to traffic enforcement and consistency with pet policies—does not seem to be a priority. apparently, when attendance move out, they don’t do any like maintenance or anything like that because there’s mold in our Icemaker and we literally just got the filter replaced by maintenance. Also, our fire alarm just went off

Update May 2026: so we live in apartment 605 and our fire alarm keeps going off like every month we’ve become really good friends with Braintree fire Besides a very condescending, I’m gonna talk down to you Electrician that comes every other week it’s not worth it. The solution is to replace the smoke detector every time That’s not working clearly it’s a wiring issue. Apparently other residents are also having this problem :). Oh, and people with their aggressive dogs go off leash :) Bemo
Was almost attacked 3 days ago

Also, the water pressure here sucks You’d be better off pooping in a trash bag Because the toilet can only handle one square toilet paper at the time, Also, they won’t replace your showerhead when you complain of low water pressure. I mean, if you ask around people complain. So I suggest bringing a bucket when you shower that’s what we do so you can actually wash your hair. We currently have a Home Depot bucket. And you also can’t sit fully on the toilet because the medicine cabinet is too low So fold yourself in half and go pee :)
Oh also this place is crawling and bugs fun fact, and it doesn’t matter if you’re deathly allergic to bees because when you tell maintenance, they’re not gonna do anything. Even though you’ve had a service request for like three weeks. I would suggest getting your own exterminator or like what we do we spray everything with raid Every day :) So be prepared to live in Raid bug spray I mean, we sold our house for 1.5 million When we never had a problem with bug For this only to have problems with the bugs. Oh also if you’re getting denied, it’s probably because they’re using AI to look at your application. No one actually looks at it. They use AI. :) As explained to us

Update June 26: yeah, the situation hasn’t gotten any better but like at least they like to leave rested nails Behind the Townhouse of 603 when they were doing repair work on the balconies of 603604602 and 601 I mean, there’s a bunch construction bags out there Rested nails, rotted wood, empty paint, cans, metal cans of some kind as well. I’m assuming paint thinner. So just so you know where your money. Theoretically, someone could go back there if they were walking back there to get tetanus If the nails that are in the bags fell out And get rusted I mean, emailed like the office a bunch of times offering to take it away and the site manager was like now we’re gonna take care of it but yet to do so.

June/july 2026 so the fire alarms went off again, but clearly it is a wiring issue. But then again they have electricians come in and tell me that I’m crazy and I don’t know what I’m talking about. Oh shut up because I’m a woman. :) nice Oh yeah, they have trash laying around again and no one’s picking it up. Which literally cannot be that difficult because it’s right where you put your trash

I would strongly caution anyone considering moving here to think carefully before signing a lease.

From the day we moved in, our apartment had a severe cigarette smoke odor that made parts of the unit unusable. We immediately reported the issue and expected a smoke-free community to take the situation seriously. Instead, we spent the following weeks repeatedly reaching out, explaining the same issue, and waiting for updates.

Over the course of more than a month, the attempted solutions included an ozone treatment, HVAC filter replacement, replacing a bathroom fan, and odor treatments. Despite all of this, the smoke odor remained. The upstairs bedroom and bathroom were still heavily affected, and we continued being unable to comfortably use those areas of the apartment.

The most frustrating part was not just the original issue — problems happen — it was the lack of urgency and the amount of effort required from us to get basic follow-through. We were repeatedly told the issue was being looked into, yet weeks passed without meaningful progress.

A smoke-free community should not deliver a unit with persistent smoke contamination and then require residents to spend their first weeks fighting to have it addressed. Moving is stressful enough without having to spend your time documenting problems, following up constantly, and waiting for someone to take action.

I hope management improves their communication and response process, because this was an extremely disappointing start to living here.

After an extensive search of many rental properties, I found Lenox Farms. I toured the property and several different layouts for months before deciding that this was where I wanted to spend the next chapter of my life. Coming from a 2000 sq ft home, I was most attracted to the 2 bed, 2 bath, 2 car garage townhouse.

My move-in day was nothing short of hectic. When I came for new tenant orientation, Michael greeted me and my daughter with a warm smile and kind demeanor. He made our stressful day feel so much more calm and made us both feel welcomed and happy that we chose Lenox Farms to call home.

I’ve met a few neighbors, and everyone has been very kind. I have been here for 3 nights now, and I can truly say that I look forward to many more years here at Lenox Farms.
