LAL Construction turns up in Fall River news coverage as the contractor on public projects rather than in homeowners' review feeds. A January 2026 story about a city project named it as the contractor and described it plainly as an excavating firm based in Fall River. BBB dates the business to April 1978, lists one employee, and names Marcello Louro as president. Most of what is publicly known is bidding and municipal work. The Taunton Gazette reported in 2013 that the company was the lowest bidder on a job at $1,145,398, and in 2016 the Herald News described a $20,001 bid for a potential demolition of structures at the former Silvia School on Hartwell Street. When street closures were frustrating Fall River businesses in 2023, the owner of New Boston Bakery told the Herald News he credited LAL Construction with trying to minimize the impact on them. Two things to weigh. The customer-facing record is very thin: 10 Google ratings averaging 4.4, a single written review — a June 2026 comment that the company's work always looks clean and professional — and a BBB page that is Not Rated because the bureau says it lacks sufficient information. Separately, a 2022 case-law page associated with the company sets out a lawsuit over utility service cut off on two occasions to a manufacturing plant, argued around alleged negligence and the economic loss doctrine; the page states the legal question at issue. For a house-scale job, ask first whether they take work at that size — the visible history is municipal site work and demolition — then ask for references from recent private jobs and for proof of insurance covering utility strikes.
