One review exists for Kettell Roofing, and it is a hard one. Posted in January 2022, a Falmouth homeowner wrote that the roof the company replaced began leaking within weeks; the crew tried to fix it at first and then, by their account, stopped responding after January 2010. They wrote that they were told the band where the roofing joins the chimney had been destroyed, had the roof repaired by someone else, and chased the warranty through arbitration, the Better Business Bureau, a demand letter and finally Falmouth small claims court — where, they said, the company never responded, never appeared, and the court issued an outstanding civil arrest warrant. That is one customer's telling, and it is the one written account on file. The licensing is checkable, and it does not come back clean. The Massachusetts registry shows the company's home improvement contractor registration, number 140657, as expired. BuildZoom lists that registration and a second one, #113636, both as inactive and at one point cancelled, and prints its own banner that no active licence is on file. In Massachusetts, HIC registration is what covers nonstructural residential home improvement work, so that status matters before anyone signs. On paper the work is roofing: sixteen permitted projects, mostly Cape Cod strip-and-reroof jobs between 2005 and 2011, a 2009 window replacement at 11 Vernon St in Nahant, and one 2024 window job in Mattapan. On Angi the company presents itself as Kettell Roofing & Siding, claims 30 years of experience, and lists asphalt shingle roofing alongside fiber cement siding. The expired registration is the thing to settle first. Ask whether it has been renewed, confirm the number yourself with the Office of Consumer Affairs, and get the warranty terms and a dispute process in writing before any deposit.
Typical Greater Boston range for this kind of work, from regional averages — not a quote from Kettell Roofing. Use it to sanity-check bids, then get the real number in writing.
A square is 100 sq ft of roof surface — bigger than the floor plan because of pitch and overhangs.

We engaged Kettell Roofing to replace our roof in Falmouth, MA. After just a few weeks we had major leaks. At first they tried to fix them, but after January, 2010, they just stopped responding. We have since had the roof repaired. During this we were told that Kettell Roofing had destroyed the Chatham band which is integral to preventing leaks from where the roofing joins the chimney. After this a long process to hold them accountable for the repair cost under their warranty started. We have pursued this through the small claims court in Falmouth. We have tried i) arbitration, the Better Business Bureau and a letter of demand as required y the State of Massachusetts. There was no response to any of these. We finally went to Small Claims Court for the maximum allowed in this venue. Kettell did not respond to the Court, did not appear at the Trial or the subsequent hearing to resolve their ability to pay. The Court has now issued an Outstanding Civil Arrest Warrant. Apparently, Kettell Roofing feels it can ignore the legal system. We know they are still in business because another entry in Angie's List has referred to them as recently as September 31, 2011.
