JT Electrical Services runs out of Roxbury, working repairs, rewiring, new installations, and lighting design across Boston's residential and commercial buildings, with emergency calls answered around the clock by its own account. The company says it's been doing this for more than 20 years, and Boston's permit records back up a long operating history: 192 electrical permits filed in the city since 2011, with 72% of rated permits closed — a rate that beats the city median. Third-party ratings are consistently on the positive side but built on small samples: 4.4 stars from 7 Google ratings, a 5.0 average across 11 reviews on Porch, and 4.3 on TrustAnalytica. BuildZoom, which scores contractors on permit and project history rather than star ratings, puts this one at 98 under owner Jesus Tejeda. One site that tracks contractors in the area called out the obvious caveat this summer: with only 7 public reviews, that 4.4-star average is too small a sample to lean on heavily. The permit history cuts both ways, too — 61 of the 170 rated jobs are still listed open, worth asking about directly rather than assuming they're all closed out. This reads as a smaller, owner-run shop with a longer paper trail than most of its size — a reasonable call for everyday electrical work in Boston, but one where confirming current licensing and getting firm answers on open permits and timelines matters more than it would for an outfit with a deeper public review history.

Worked with Jesus on 3 projects and him and his team are fantastic. They helped with a ceiling fan, an EV charger with circuit board upgrade and a full electric work for a new bathroom. Highly recommend!

Super responsive, kind, fast and friendly. A wonderful experience, and I look forward to doing more with them in the future. I just had a ceiling light replaced- did an amazing job.

I’ve used JT Electrical for years for different types of projects. They’re always my first call.

Start by saying, this was one of the easiest processes I’ve ever dealt with. We had a tree fall and rip the power lines off the house. Jesus showed up and provided a thorough inspection with multiple options. We opted for a full service upgrade. Within a week they were onsite with a large crew and had the job completed. I own a service company and know how hard it is to find reliable contractors. Highly recommend these guys!!
