There is one homeowner account of JH Landscaping & Construction, and it is a bad one. In June 2025 a Houzz reviewer gave the Swansea company one star over a grade, loam and seed job, writing that the crew took out better loam than the fill they brought in — fill the reviewer described as junk, with rocks and other debris — and that it took another person getting involved to bring the company back. That one review is the whole of the 1.0 rating on its Houzz profile. By its own description, the company is a site-work and landscape contractor: septic systems, underground utilities, asphalt paving, concrete, masonry, lawn maintenance, material sales and snow removal. Heavy site work is the bulk of that list, and the lawn job in the complaint sits at the light end of it. One worth noting about the source: that Houzz profile lists a phone number and web address different from the ones the company publishes itself, though the profile handle matches the company's own email. A single review cannot settle what a contractor is like — it is a question to ask, not a verdict. If you are considering them, ask for references from recent septic or site-work jobs, get the material spec written into the contract (loam quality, depth and source), and agree who signs off on the finished grade before the crew leaves.
