Impruv Builders is a Hingham general contractor that, by its own account, started out in 1978 doing painting, roofing, cedar siding, decks and trim work before Roger Gallagher and Jack O'Brien built it into the whole-house remodeling and addition business it is today. Gallagher, who runs the company, says it still covers Hingham, Hull, Scituate, Duxbury, Cohasset and Norwell. There isn't much independent record to weigh yet. Porch shows a 5.0 average across five online reviews, and a couple of other pages describe it as a trusted, reliable outfit on the South Shore, but none of that comes with the kind of specific, recent customer accounts that make a rating easy to trust. Google and BBB turn up nothing for this business, and its Houzz profile exists under its name but didn't yield a rating or reviews either. It is listed as a member of the Hingham Chamber of Commerce, which at least ties it to the local business community it says it has served for decades. Before booking, ask for a few current references directly — the five Porch reviews are close to the only real customer signal available online right now, thin for a company that says it has been at this since 1978. Worth a look for an addition or a whole-house remodel in its home towns, but get references and confirm current licensing before signing anything.
