Ideal Siding Boston runs out of Somerville, putting up and repairing siding — vinyl, fiber cement James Hardie board, cedar — plus the gutters and windows that come with a re-side, across the Boston area. Its BBB listing names Elric Froute as owner and puts the shop at three years old; Angi's page for the same business claims seven years of experience, a gap worth asking about directly. The 'Ideal Siding' brand it operates under is a national franchise — the corporate site says the parent company started in 2011 and crossed into the US market in 2022 — but that timeline belongs to the franchise system, not necessarily this Somerville crew. Sixty-two reviews have piled up since 2023 across seven different sites, and two names keep recurring: project managers Elric and June, credited review after review with staying reachable and keeping homeowners posted while a crew works. Google has the company at 5.0 stars across 44 ratings, and Angi puts it at 4.8 from 22, with Angi's own recap pointing to 21 five-star write-ups naming Elric by name. The last six months track the same pattern: in June, a homeowner residing a hundred-year-old house called the crew meticulous about details and the price reasonable; in May, another said the attention to detail was the reason they were glad they'd found the company; in March, a small siding-and-gutter repair came in on a competitive quote with a smooth process; and in January, someone who'd lost a few panels to wind called the turnaround shockingly fast. The same recent stretch produced the one real complaint on file: an April review describes a roughly $17,700 siding job in Quincy that turned uneven and wavy within three months, with unfinished sealing, rusting screws, and repair visits the homeowner says didn't fully resolve it. It's a single complaint against 62 reviews, but it's recent and detailed enough to bring up directly — ask what happens if a repair doesn't hold, and get warranty terms in writing. Its Houzz page, separately, sits at 4.3 from just 6 reviews — a small enough sample not to weigh against the hundreds of higher marks elsewhere, but the number isn't unanimous. This reads as a siding-and-exterior specialist, not a general remodeler, whatever category it's filed under — vinyl, Hardie board, cedar, gutters, windows. For a full re-side or a storm-damage repair, the depth and consistency of the praise, plus a BBB A+ and an Angi Approved badge, count for something; given the one serious complaint, it's worth confirming in writing what recourse looks like if an issue turns up after the crew leaves.

Ideal was meticulous about details of the siding and repair job for our 100 year old home. The crews were highly skilled and efficient. The materials were top quality and the price very reasonable.

Outstanding quality work done by highly skilled tradesmen. We couldn’t be happier about the way the project came out. We were lucky to find this company and its great attention to detail. Very pleased,I would recommend this company to anyone looking to improve their home! Thank you Elric, Gerry and Mary Fimiani

I hired this company for a siding project at my home in Quincy, MA for about $17,700. Unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing. Within about three months after installation, multiple issues appeared. The siding became uneven and wavy, and the problems continued even after several repair attempts. Some exterior work was not properly finished, with visible gaps, inconsistent sealing, and components not installed flush to the wall. Interior-type screws were used outside and have already started to rust. I also observed improper material used to seal at least one exterior vent. Additional issues later appeared, including cracking in trim and holes in siding panels. I provided a detailed list and gave multiple chances to fix the work. Some items were acknowledged but not repaired, and I was told issues were fixed when they were not. I recommend carefully reviewing all work before final payment.

Ideal Siding did an excellent job on a small siding and gutter repair project for us. Their quote was competitive, the workmanship seemed to be of high quality, and the whole process was smooth and professional. Elric, June, and the rest of the crew were great to work with. We’re very pleased with the outcome and would gladly recommend them.

Impeccable job. I needed siding repair after the wind blew a few pieces off. My house looks better than before, and it was shockingly fast.
