Hingham Moving Services is a Boston-area mover — despite the name, its offices are in Hanover, Woburn, Wellesley and Millis — that says it has 'decades of experience,' and a LinkedIn listing separately puts its founding at 1983. The name that keeps showing up across its reviews is Keith, along with Josh and Danny, credited with coordinating everything from local South Shore moves to interstate relocations. Recent reviews describe genuinely complicated jobs handled well: one move loaded and unloaded across three different locations in a single day, another sent a crew from Plymouth, MA all the way to Alexandria, VA, and one repeat customer had two trucks packed, moved out, and moved back in between 8:30am and 3:30pm. Reviewers also mention the crew being patient with older parents during a move — a small detail that shows up more than once. The last six months of Google reviews are uniformly positive, which is worth knowing given the company's longer history isn't spotless. A few older reviews — some from 2022, one from September 2025 — describe real problems: furniture or wall damage, a dented freezer, broken items, and in a couple of cases a slow or dismissive response when customers pushed back about it. That's a real pattern worth asking about, even if it doesn't match the more recent run of reviews. Worth asking before booking: how damage claims get handled, and what the company's advertised guarantee — it says customers don't pay until every part of a move is completed as agreed — actually covers if something goes wrong. If you need a straightforward local or long-distance move, including a multi-stop day or an out-of-state relocation, the recent track record here is strong. Just get the damage-and-claims process in writing up front, given the handful of rockier experiences further back in the company's history.

Keith and his team of movers did an excellent job for our recent move. He was extremely communicative prior to the move and provided a fair quote. The team of 4 on the day were super efficient (I couldn't believe how quickly they could load/unload between our three locations!), friendly and had a wonderful attitude. They made sure we were extremely happy with where everything was placed and went over and above with the rebuilding of furniture. Would definitely recommend!

I almost never write reviews but I can't help but plug Hingham Movers for their help. We moved from Boston to the South Shore and everything beginning to end was so easy with Hingham Movers. We were SHOCKED at how quickly, and with such care, the team moved us out and back in again. It was unbelievable. The rate was reasonable and the team was second to none. I wish I could give it 6 stars!

How to rate a moving company: can they handle a complex, interstate move? Are they responsive and attentive to the customer's needs, requirements and preferences? Are they instantly reachable, communicate often even during the move and certainly afterwards to ensure the customer is completely satisfied? Do they respect your personal belongings and home(s), treat items with care and diligence, and are professional and capable in handling sensitive or breakable items in the packing and unpacking? Are their staff well trained, collegial, hard working, conscientious, clean, experienced in safely handling large mirrors, antiques, tech equipment, rugs, heavy furniture and glassware? Do they use their own staff who are hand picked, have worked together often and feature their own trucks? Are their prices fixed and no attempt made to increase the amounts agreed upon due to the complexity of the move? Does the crew take care of unforeseen events with utmost courtesy and a commitment to resolving with the customer's consent? Do they leave the customer with a completely satisfied feeling once completed? Hingham Moving Services, with Keith and Joshua at the helm, more than met each and every one of these categories, and more. As a family that has moved on several occasions across states, we have absolutely no hesitation to recommend them entirely and without reservation.

Had the best experience today with Hingham Moving Services. From start to finish, it was an awesome experience, something I have never said about our many moves. The movers were so friendly, kind, careful, and professional. They moved everything with so much care but were extremely efficient. We are so grateful and highly recommend to anyone in need of moving services.
