Hiltz Moving & Storage says it's been packing up Gloucester-area households since 1940, still family-owned, working out of its Kondelin Road facility just off Rte 128. It handles local, long-distance, and commercial moves, along with packing and storage — the kind of full-service mover people call for everything from a next-town move to a multi-state relocation. The reputation here runs deep: Google puts it at 4.9 stars across 71 ratings, and the tone across dozens of reviews stretching back years is remarkably consistent — careful handling of heavy or awkward items, crews who show up on time, and named office staff and movers who follow through on the details. The most recent review, from May 2026, keeps to that same script: efficient, professional, and accommodating of the customer's needs. One thing worth asking about directly: the business's active interstate operating authority is currently held by a newer LLC doing business as Hiltz Moving & Storage, while an older motor-carrier record still shows a different number under the original 'Hiltz Moving & Storage Inc.' name at the same Gloucester address, and a federal SAM.gov contractor registration for the DBA is listed as expired. None of that is unusual for an 80-plus-year-old company that's reorganized over time, but it's worth a quick confirmation of exactly who you'd be contracting with, especially for a move crossing state lines. For a straightforward local or long-distance move — or one that needs short- or long-term storage folded in — this reads like a safe call, provided you confirm current operating authority and get the standard written estimate before moving day.

We recently sold our house in Gloucester and had Hiltz move the contents of our home into their storage facility while we looked for another home. The move out of the Gloucester house was smooth and efficient. The movers were hard working and took great care with our items. When moving us into our new home, they showed the same care and effort. All items arrived in great shape! The movers were courteous, respectful and quick to unload all of our furniture and other belonging into our new home! Thanks Hiltz Moving & Storage!

This company was great. As an added bonus, the owner personally drove the truck down to my new home in Charleston SC and supervised and assisted in unloading everything. Due to unforseen circumstances I needed to reschedule - twice- and they were especially accommodating.<br>You cannot go wrong using this company!

Hiltz did a fantastic job moving our furniture when we bought a house . We had a few heavy items up on the second floor and they moved them without any issue. Clear communication from the start and the price was lined up with what we were estimated for. Would definitely recommend. Thank you guys
