Forty Google ratings, all of them five stars, and one name runs through nearly every account: Chad. First Choice Construction works out of Beverly, and the jobs homeowners describe most are the shell of the house — siding, windows, doors, gutters — with full bathroom and kitchen renovations alongside. Its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration is active, and its BBB page is an A+ with accreditation and 35 years in business. The strongest thread in ten years of written accounts is diagnosis. In a March 2024 review, a homeowner said several contractors had come out for a leak around a window and none could find the source; Chad identified it, and the crew wrapped the house and reflashed the window. A condo building wrote in June 2024 about hiring the company to trace leaky windows, which grew into replacing siding, sealing the window waterproofing, and undoing a previous contractor's damage. Repeat hiring is the other pattern, and it is a specific one. A homeowner writing in August 2020 was on their third window job with the same crew. A September 2022 customer had already used them twice before handing over a down-to-the-studs bathroom. A November 2024 siding customer said two neighbors had recently used them and recommended them; a December 2020 reviewer hired them for the same reason. The small stuff shows up too. A January 2024 reviewer who had the whole house sided remembered the crew clearing nails from around the shrubs afterward. In December 2017, a homeowner with a siding repair fifty feet up said nobody else would take a job that small. In February 2024, front steps went in over a few winter weeks. Two things to settle before booking. The company's own site advertises a VSI certification and a Massachusetts construction supervisor's licence — those are its claims, and only the home improvement contractor registration was checked against the state registry. And most of what customers describe is exterior work; the interior renovations are praised but make up a smaller share, so ask who runs the bath or kitchen crew and how the schedule is set. The right call if your project is the outside of the house — siding, windows, doors, or a leak nobody else can find — and a reasonable one for a full bathroom, given how many people came back a second and third time. Two reviewers added items mid-project and were happy with the outcome; put any mid-job additions in writing anyway.
