Continental Moving Company works out of South Boston, and its Google page shows something unusual for a moving outfit: 218 ratings, and nearly every single one lands at five stars. Reviewers name the crew directly and repeatedly — Isaac, Tom, Dauren, Dan coordinating the schedule — the kind of detail that shows up when people actually remember who was carrying their couch. The last several months tell a consistent story. When one customer's original movers cancelled the day before a Boston-to-New-York move, Continental's crew showed up two hours early instead and handled a handful of fragile leftover items without complaint. Another reviewer got a next-day booking confirmed on a day's notice and found the crew patient even when building access ran late. A third had a move rescheduled around a Puerto Rico storm and a snowed-in driveway and still got delivered on time. Isaac and Ramzan packed a PODS storage container "like Tetris" in three hours on one job, and a two-day labor-only move finished under the estimated time on both days. Several reviewers specifically mention nothing was damaged and call the price fair next to other Boston movers they'd quoted. The one crack in that record is a single review, from earlier in the company's history on Google, describing a price that changed after a quote had already been given in writing — a pricing dispute rather than a damage or no-show complaint. It sits alone against everything else on the page, but it's worth getting any quote from Continental confirmed in writing before moving day regardless of how firm the number sounds on the phone. Continental is a fit for local Boston-area moves, longer relocations up and down the East Coast, and same-day or short-notice jobs — apartment moves, storage-container loading, labor-only help with a rental truck. Get the total cost in writing before booking, and ask who's on the crew that day; the reviews suggest the regulars are the reason people rehire them.

Highly recommend this team they were incredibly detailed, efficient, friendly and careful with all of our belongings. They were so kind and helpful and willing to basically assist with anything you needed them to as it relates to moving (dispose of items, assemble and dissemble furniture, wrap and unmount televisions, the list goes on). We are so grateful for them on what could have been a stressful day - it was as easy as possible ! Thank you !

The two movers who came to unload our U-Haul were excellent. I believe one's name was Val. He and his partner were extremely professional, careful, and efficient. They unloaded the entire truck and got everything into my apartment so much faster than the movers that loaded the truck in the state I moved from. I would definitely recommend this company for moving needs in the Boston area!

The guys were fantastic. Professional, and efficient, they packed our pod tight and completed the job within the time limit. Most importantly they did this all during a 105 degree day! Truly great work we couldn't be happier.

What does a move cost in Greater Boston?
Typical Greater Boston range for this kind of work, from regional averages — not a quote from Continental Moving Company. Use it to sanity-check bids, then get the real number in writing.
Flights without an elevator, counting both ends.
Estimated range
$900 – $1,700
Typical move around $1,300
