Centaur Moving, long based in Cambridge, has closed under its own name: the company's website now says it has joined forces with Paradise Moving & Storage, and that all bookings and services are handled under the Paradise Moving brand (paradisemove.com) going forward. That transition matters because Centaur built a genuinely strong track record before it — Google shows 5 stars from 376 ratings, and greatguysmove.com scored it 9.61 out of 10, calling it an 'Exceptional' mover among the top in Massachusetts, while a 2022 Oncue press release recognized owner Andrew Rosenberg's company as its 'Mover of the Month'. Reviewers over the years praised named crews for careful handling of tricky moves — narrow Cambridge stairwells, heavy antique furniture, long-distance and storage jobs — with several customers coming back for a second or third move. The most recent activity is a warning sign tied to that transition: a July 2026 review said a move booked six weeks in advance was cancelled the night before it was scheduled, while two other recent reviews (April and May 2026) were still positive, describing a Cambridge-to-Hopkinton move handled quickly and for less than the original estimate. That mix — real quality work alongside a same-day-notice cancellation right around the time of a corporate merger — is exactly what tends to happen during a brand wind-down, and it's a real risk for anyone still trying to book under the Centaur name. The bottom line: don't book with 'Centaur Moving' expecting the crew and reliability its history earned — the company itself says that's Paradise Moving & Storage now. If its record here is appealing, confirm directly with Paradise Moving that the same team, pricing, and service standards are carrying over before committing to anything.

I booked this company to move my 1 bed apt furnishings 6 weeks in advance. They cancelled on me the night before my scheduled move!

Used Centaur Moving for our move from a 2-bedroom apartment in Cambridge to a 3-bedroom house in Hopkinton. Alex, Vadym, and Marcos were super friendly and easy to work with. The crew worked fast, took good care of our stuff, and made the whole move feel a lot less stressful. The final cost even ended up a little lower than the original estimate, which was a nice surprise. Really glad we chose them.

Andrew and the team were excellent. Nice guys who efficiently helped my move downtown. In a difficult place to move, they got the whole job done in a morning. Thank you again for all the help!
