Carroll Projects is a small Massachusetts bathroom specialist that homeowners on Reddit have pointed each other toward by name — including one commenter who hired the company and came back to recommend it in a second thread. The company presents itself as family-rooted, built on a multi-generation trades background, and says it works from Greater Boston through the South Shore to Cape Cod. By its own account it grew out of a 2019 project in which founder James Carroll bought and fully renovated a run-down 1800s-era Boston home, and he runs it alongside his father, brother and uncles. Bathrooms are the focus: full remodels of existing baths and new ensuite additions. What outside voices there are point the same direction. In October 2025 a Reddit commenter in r/Somerville said they had worked with Carroll Projects and found them fair with great work, and a comment in r/massachusetts that same month reported being really happy with the job. Both singled out the same thing — James Carroll answering email quickly. Two things are worth raising on a first call. The construction supervisor's licence is the founder's own statement, with no number attached and nothing confirmed against the state registry, so ask for the number and check it. And the enthusiasm so far comes from a couple of Reddit comments rather than a long public trail, which makes references from recent bathroom jobs more useful here than usual. This is a reasonable call for a homeowner in Greater Boston, the South Shore or on the Cape who wants a bathroom-focused remodeler and is comfortable doing their own vetting: ask for the licence number, addresses of two or three finished bathrooms, and a written scope before booking.
