Highlights
- Careful handling — a recent review calls the move smooth and handled with care
- Flat-rate pricing — some reviews cite a set price instead of hourly billing
- Missing items — a recent review says a glass shelf went missing with no follow-up
- Damage disputes — one review describes a broken ceiling fan not disclosed at the time
- Pricing — one review describes a high, non-flat quote for a simple move
Boston House Movers says on its site it was started by a mover named Peter who grew frustrated with damaged furniture and inaccurate estimates elsewhere in the industry, building the company around door-to-door residential moves — apartments, houses, studios, single rooms. Google has the company at 4 stars from a small sample of 12 ratings, and the two most recent reviews split right down the middle: one from this spring calls the move smooth and handled with care, while one from this summer says a glass shelf went missing during a move and nobody followed up about it. Reviews going back to 2023 show a similar mix beyond that — praise for fast, efficient crews and flat-rate pricing on one side, and on the other, a report describing a bed base set up crooked and a broken ceiling fan the crew reportedly didn't disclose at the time. One review also describes being quoted a flat $480 for a simple one-bedroom move between Natick and Cambridge and finding that steep next to a rental-truck alternative — worth getting a firm, itemized quote up front, and confirming in writing how the company handles damaged or missing items. For a straightforward local residential move, the track record here is thin and uneven rather than a clear yes or no — pin down pricing and a damage-claim process before committing.

Jay and his team just completed my 4th move (in addition to 3 moves for friends/family we’ve recommended to) and I am always impressed with their efficiency and professionalism. They are well worth their price and take great care of our items - fragile, bulky, heavy, complicated to assemble - you name it they’ll take care of it. I hope for my own sake I don’t need their services again anytime soon but can’t recomend them enough for those that do!
