Bell Air's name comes up in Boston with a particular ring to it: short notice. A commenter on r/boston in February 2021 wrote that they had booked the company twice at very short notice, and both times found the crew thoughtful and careful with their things. The business is an old one. BBB records a Massachusetts corporation started in May 1999, run by Nikolay Sosnovsky out of Dedham with four employees, accredited since July 2023 and graded A+. Thumbtack lists a Massachusetts Moving Company licence it says it verified in March 2025, and the company publishes a US DOT number, 817357, and an MDPU number, 31770. The written praise is consistent, and it is old. Angi shows 4.7 across 11 ratings with 91% at five stars, the reviews running 2016 to 2018. The most useful is from December 2017: a customer described a piano moved between houses, down a staircase partly blocked by a stair-glide, with the crew shifting furniture to make room and taking care to centre the instrument along the wall. Two Thumbtack reviews from 2011 and 2012 say the same thing about the owner — he came out to give the estimate himself and the price was fair. The one snag anyone raised is money, and it is mild. A January 2018 customer said nothing arrived scratched or broken but the final bill ran higher than expected. The company now publishes hourly rates, from $139 an hour for two movers and a truck, so that part is checkable before you book. A sensible call for a local move, a last-minute booking, or a piano. Since nothing has been written about them since 2018, ask for two recent references and confirm crew size and the hourly rate in writing before the day.
