One name comes up more than any other in Anton's Movers' reviews: Sasha. He's cited by name in review after review, leading crews on moves as short as a few blocks and as long as Boston to Chicago. The Newton-based company works Greater Boston and long-distance runs up and down the East Coast, and Google shows 4.9 stars across 435 ratings. The recent reviews read like a tour of hard moving-day scenarios handled without drama. One crew got a customer into a fifth-floor Fenway walk-up on a nearly 100-degree day. Another finished loading a third-floor walk-up in under three hours, then drove through the night to deliver the next morning. A Boston-to-Chicago move up and down a non-elevator building's many stairs still arrived at the pickup address early and delivered by 11:30 the next morning. Pricing gets specific praise too — more than one reviewer says the final bill matched a fixed quote exactly, and one paid slightly less than originally quoted. The one exception in the recent record is a serious one: a reviewer says a move quoted around $1,700 ended up costing nearly $8,000, and that the company mixed up their move with a family member's move happening at the same time, delivering and billing for the wrong storage unit. It's a single account among many, but specific and severe enough to be worth asking about directly — get the quote and scope in writing before moving day, especially if more than one family move is being coordinated with the company at once. For a local move or a long one-day run to New York, Philadelphia, or Chicago, the pattern here is overwhelmingly the crew doing exactly what they said they would, on time and without damage. Given the one billing dispute on record, it's worth locking down the final price in writing rather than relying on a verbal estimate.

They were great. I was doing a smaller local move and used them to move furniture. They were punctual, efficient, and moved everything with care. The price was great. If I need movers again, I would absolutely hire them again.

I would give Anton's 6/5 stars if I could. They were incredible from start to finish. The pricing was extremely competitive, so much so that when I told other companies what Anton's was quoting, they said there was no way they could come close. The fixed rate price was also true to their word which made everything simple.

We had Anton's move us from Boston to Philly and were quoted about 4 hours of total packing and unloading time. I was anticipating it taking much longer than 2 hours at each location from prior experience, but the guys were so efficient, that they got everything done in just about 2 hours total (loading in Boston and unloading in Philly). The guys were on time, pleasant, and made everything feel so smooth.

I can't recommend Anton's enough, they really exceeded all expectations! Will definitely be using them again in the future!

What does a move cost in Greater Boston?
Typical Greater Boston range for this kind of work, from regional averages — not a quote from Anton's Movers. Use it to sanity-check bids, then get the real number in writing.
