A-Plus Moving & Storage has built up 583 ratings on Google at 4.8 stars, and reading through this year's run of reviews, the pattern is almost entirely consistent: named crews, careful handling, and jobs that come in on time. One review from the spring describes a studio apartment move from Roxbury to Dorchester that turned out to be far bigger than expected — the apartment was, in the reviewer's words, "full to the hilt" — and the crew still had the truck loaded and out by noon and the whole job finished by 2:30. Another customer named Luis and Eugen specifically for taking furniture apart and putting it back together "perfectly," and a third, in January, needed help placing heavy furniture they couldn't move on their own once the crew left — the movers asked where everything should go before they finished up. There's a real exception to that run, though: one reviewer using A-Plus for a third time — the first two moves had gone fine — said this crew showed no urgency and took nearly five hours on a job quoted at three, on what should have been a short move down the road. It's a useful reminder that a long track record with a company doesn't guarantee every crew performs the same way. An older complaint separately describes a contentious pricing disagreement with management, so it's worth getting the hourly rate, the estimated time, and what happens if a job runs long spelled out before the truck shows up. Hundreds of Google ratings built up over several years, the majority naming specific crew members, is the kind of longevity that's hard to fake with a handful of reviews. A-Plus reads as a solid choice for a standard local move, especially given how many reviewers come back a second or third time and specifically ask for the same crew. Given the one recent account of a job running long, it's worth confirming the hourly rate and crew size for your job size before booking, and asking directly how overages beyond the quoted time are handled.

I have now used this company three times. The first two I have no complaints hence why I kept calling them. This third time, however, I was very unhappy with their service. I Had them move One small bedroom, A few kitchen appliances, And one living room. A 700 square foot apartment 2.5 miles down the road. The first location having an elevator. I was quoted three hours at $175 an hour. The other two quotes prior to this move were all accurate amounts of time. This particular crew on this last move, seemed to have zero urgency to get anything done. It took them 4.75 hours. I was expecting to pay around $600 so it is understandably upsetting to get a bill for almost $1,000. I have the exact same amount of stuff that I had the last time they moved me, The hourly rate was significantly lower, And I’m paying hundreds of dollars more than the last time they moved me. I called to try to understand the price, but was shut down. I will not be using this company again.

I’ve moved with A-Plus movers twice now, and they do AWESOME work. All of my furniture has made it to my apartment unharmed and treated extremely respectfully each time. Additionally the crew I got most recently were absolute saints—they had really awesome attitudes about a tough moving assignment, and I can’t thank them enough. A-Plus rocks!
