It was so great working with Ryan! Over the course of two years, he created plans for my house ranging from "long term dreams" to "short term must haves" and helped find a builder to make it happen. He advocated for what I needed throughout the entire build process, made thoughtful suggestions or compromises where needed, and made me feel confident in my interactions with the team doing the job. He was quick to respond when I had questions, and he taught me so much about the history of my house. I will for certain work with him again in the future.

We commissioned Ryan to do a house history report on our home and are very, very happy with all the work he did. We'd always heard that a fire in the city records office long ago made it impossible to precisely date the house, but that it had only had three owners in its 100+ years. Ryan proved both of these things to be nonsense. He dug up detailed plot plans and maps showing not just when our house was built and by whom, but how the whole neighborhood developed over time; which houses came first and how the street layouts evolved. He provided a complete ownership history and chronology -- from the handwritten deeds of the early 1900s through the house's time as a boarding house, its repossession by the bank during the Depression, clippings of old newspaper stories where the house or its residents were mentioned, and much more. Ryan is clearly passionate about his work and delivered much more than we expected. I would recommend him wholeheartedly to anyone wanting to learn about the history of where they live.

I hired Preservation Collaborative, Ryan Hayward, for a kitchen renovation and found him to be just what I needed. He listened to what I was looking for and was knowledgeable about how to achieve the style and look I wanted while preserving as much of original materials and look as possible. His fees were very reasonable and work was finished on time. Ryan was good at discussing any problems that came up and had some of the best solutions. I am very happy with my new kitchen.
