If I could give zero stars, I would. My experience with Rick Roy Construction’s flooring installation was honestly one of the most stressful home projects I’ve ever dealt with. I’m shocked at how unprofessional and careless the entire process felt. From the very first day, the crew showed up late, acted disorganized, and seemed completely unprepared. What should have been a straightforward installation turned into a chaotic mess. The floors were rushed, uneven in several places, and the finishing work looked like it was done by someone who had never handled flooring before. What frustrated me the most was the complete lack of communication. Days went by without updates, and when I asked simple questions about timelines or issues, I either got vague answers or felt like I was being brushed off. The project dragged on way longer than promised, and by the time they were “finished,” I was honestly just relieved to have them out of my house. I hired a professional company expecting professionalism, attention to detail, and basic respect for my home — I didn’t get any of that. The amount of cleanup I had to do when they left was unbelievable. Dust everywhere, scraps left behind, and tools scattered around like they just walked off the job mid-way. I rarely leave reviews, but this experience was frustrating enough that I want to warn others. I strongly recommend looking elsewhere unless you want to deal with delays, sloppy workmanship, and a headache from start to finish.

First, deadlines meant nothing to them. They promised the job would be done in six weeks—it dragged on for nearly five months with excuse after excuse. I’d come home to find half-finished work, tools left scattered in the driveway, and trash literally thrown into my yard. The quality of the work was shocking. They installed flooring that wasn’t level, left gaps in the drywall big enough to slide a finger through, and even used the wrong size windows—then tried to convince me it was “good enough.” The paint job looked like it had been done by children—drips, streaks, and paint splattered all over my trim and even my furniture. What really crossed the line, though, was the lack of professionalism. Workers were constantly smoking on site, blasting music, and swearing loudly while my kids were home. One afternoon I caught two of them sleeping in their truck in my driveway for over an hour instead of working. Even worse, I later discovered they had tracked mud and debris into my upstairs bedroom, ruining a brand-new carpet I had just installed. To top it all off, the company had the nerve to demand extra money halfway through, claiming they “underestimated” the costs—despite everything being in writing. When I refused, they threatened to walk off the job completely. This company is dishonest, unprofessional, and careless. I would never trust them with a doghouse, let alone a home. Save yourself the stress and money—go with literally anyone else.

Review 2: Our Rick Roy Construction renovation is now done and dusted. It was completed in August 2022. It was a big job (e.g., new bedrooms, barn bedroom, garage updates, bathrooms, large dormers, roof, paint, windows, doors, etc.). To say that we are pleased with the quality of the team and craftsmanship is an understatement. They did a remarkable job. Most importantly, if there any issues whatsoever after the fact, there are no questions. They show up within a day and make it right. Highly recommended from this family. Review 1: We are having Rick Roy Construction, LLC ("RRC") do a major structural renovation to our home in Chatham and we are super happy with the quality of work; the talent and professionalism of the crew; and the strict milestone schedule to date. As background, we have built 2 large houses (in Texas) before and have also done a sizable renovation in Chatham; so this isn't our first rodeo. To date, everyone at RRC from the architect who drafted the initial plans, project manager, prep crew, demolition crew, structural framers, finish carpenters and billing process have been best-in-class. By any measure, the workmanship is outstanding and, importantly, when they say they will do something on a certain date, it's done. As we all know, getting quality work done on the Cape is very expensive and a bit of a gamble at times. We did extensive due diligence on RRC with friends across the Cape before we retained them. They have a well earned reputation for excellence. For our hard earned money, RRC is the way to go.

We have had the pleasure of working several projects with Rick Roy over the years. Their work is the best around. We would highly recommend them for new construction, renovations, and additions.

The best construction/design firm I have ever worked with! Excellent subs, quality work, great attention to detail, creative, innovative, patient, meet deadlines and budget oriented; what else can I say! I have done two major projects with them. First was kitchen expansion/renovation and second and most recent, was a master bath expansion/renovation. Both came out amazing! I also managed to fit in some smaller projects while they were on site which included plumbing, carpentry and electrical, to fix things that were in dire need of change. This work was done just as well. I would highly recommend them!
