Built-to-fit storage is the clearest thread here. In a July 2026 Google review, a customer described working through several design rounds with Mike on a mudroom built-in and closet sized for coats, laundry supplies, and a vacuum — exactly the kind of awkward-space problem a custom shop can solve. The company says it is a small, in-house custom cabinetry and furniture shop serving South Shore clients, with a workshop in Pembroke. It says its work includes kitchens, islands, vanities, tables, and built-ins. LinkedIn lists Mike as the owner and says he has run Red Tail Woodworking since 2022, and its Massachusetts HIC license is active. Google shows 4.8 stars from 18 ratings. That average is high, but 18 is still a limited sample, and the Google history is not spotless: one earlier reviewer reported workmanship and fit problems with a custom piece. The recent praise centers on collaboration and storage planning, which fits the picture of a small shop doing made-to-order work rather than high-volume installs. The questions to ask are practical. Confirm how field measurements are checked before fabrication, what happens if an installed piece needs adjustment, and whether your project will be built from the Pembroke workshop or managed through the Scituate address that appears on other listings. Red Tail Woodworking makes more sense if you want custom cabinetry, a built-in, or furniture sized around a real room and you want to work closely with the person making it. Before booking, pin down the measurement process, shop location, and how post-install fixes are handled.

Mike helped me design a custom built-in for my mudroom. Mike and I worked together through several iterations of the design until we had a plan that met all of our needs, including a custom closet that fits coats, laundry accessories, and my vacuum without wasting space. Installation was a piece of cake. He and his team built a beautiful piece that my family uses every day and is very functional yet beautiful. I can't wait to work with Mike and his team again!

Mike built a beautiful custom dining room table for us and we are extremely pleased. It looks fantastic and the quality is far better than anything we could get in stores or online. Mike and the Red Tail team were great to work with and we would highly recommend them.

Mike did a great job building us several different kinds of cabinets, including kitchen under counter units, wall hung cabinets, and three different custom bath vanities, all of which look great and have worked out really well. Mike is easy to work with, and I recommend him highly.

Mike is incredibly talented, meticulous, professional, responsive and kind. We have had Red Tail complete multiple projects for us, and we couldn't be happier with the results. Just look at their social media accounts to see the quality of work Red Tail produces. Every detail is accounted for. I couldn't recommend them more highly!
