Raybern isn't a remodeling crew — it's a decorative hardware showroom in Charlestown, a few minutes from downtown Boston, selling the knobs, pulls, hinges, and door and bath hardware that homeowners, contractors, designers, and architects come in to match or replace. The company says it's been at this for more than 30 years; its site names Ron Ward as president over commercial and residential sales and Christopher Lee as vice president over residential door hardware. What keeps coming up, across independent mentions and reviews spanning 2022 to 2025, is the staff's knack for tracking down pieces that look impossible to find — matching an old front-door lockset or an odd cabinet hinge on a house that predates most catalogs. On Google the shop holds a 4.4-star average across 42 ratings, and outside write-ups echo the same idea: one hardware-shopping guide points out a dedicated contractor area behind the main building stocked with professional-grade hinges, a step beyond the retail floor most walk-in customers see. Worth knowing before making the trip: this is a sales and sourcing showroom, not a general contractor. Nothing in its own description or in outside coverage describes an installation or renovation crew — it stocks and helps match the hardware, not hang it. If this listing turned up while searching for someone to redo a kitchen, treat Raybern as the stop for picking the pulls and hinges, not the outfit that will do the work. Worth noting too: the text of its reviews reads a bit more mixed than the clean 4.4-star average suggests. A good call for anyone working on an older Boston-area house who needs door, cabinet, or bath hardware that actually matches what's already there, especially after a big-box store came up empty. If installation is also needed, ask the showroom whether they can point to someone rather than assuming they'll do that part themselves.

Chris is truly my hero! We’re new homeowners and trying to replace worn pieces of our existing hardware on our front door as well as in our kitchen. Chris was expertly able to identify the make and model of each piece of hardware when I was sure we might never find them. The folks who work here are so knowledgeable—look no further if you need decorative hardware for your home!

Terrific selection of all sorts of hardware. Really nice showroom makes it a lot better than looking online. We needed a new set of entry door hardware, and Ron could not have been friendlier or more helpful. Great service.

Went in to buy a few things. Walked around the showroom for about 30 minutes - no one even said hello to me, so I left. Will take my business elsewhere.
